Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my PC in 2008, what you reckon?

Current Spec
AMD Athlon 2900+
MSI 7021 SKT 462 main board
80GB IDE HDD
Thermaltake Eclipse Case
600W WinPower PSU
SamSung DVD Writer
GeForce FX 5200 128MB Graphics

Just 3 alterations:
AMD Athlon 4800+x2
Asus M2A-VM Main Board (Onboard Graphics)
2GB Corsair 800MHz RAM
£161.15

I dont want to spend much money so £161.15 is cool. Is it worth doing? Any other ideas? That is the price of components retail packaging with VAT and Delivery. So it is total price. Any improvements or alterations I should do?

Thank in advance!

and

upgrading the graphics card - 8600 maybe

Might do that with Graphics..Although maybe a cheaper card as my budget would be a bit stretched with that..80GB is plenty for me though =]

Thanks for the reply :)

80GB just seems abit low. after you've installed windows etc it can take up a vast majority of space.

what are you using it for?

Just use it for business really like Design, obtaining Drivers for other computers I build, checking email, uploading, downloading and I play games from time to time. I have had the PC for 2 years and have 50GB free.. Only used about 15GB or something..Running Windows XP Home SP2.

Id go for a core 2 duo, i'm sure someone here can knock you up a 3.5ghz dual core monster for that price! (e2140 cpu is cheap and very fast!)
