View Full Version : PC Facelift
This took me about 2 1/2 hours to do as for some reason my magnetic screwdriver decided not to be magnetic anymore and the heads kept falling out out everytime i turned it upside down!

The case took me my suprise as I neglected to thnk about how big it would be, and its HUGE! its significantly larger than the Antec 300 and as you can see from the pictures it makes my ATX motherboard look like a Micro ATX!
The build quality is a very good strong point of this case as its phenominal
W00t - finally got it!!!
:D
Looking good, any pics of the rear?

LOL, just curious how much space is back there and how tidy it looks, as I have only so far installed 1/8th of the drives in my new build (P183) and the rear seems quite packed (worst part is the actual molex connectors back there that the fans connect to).

Ahh. when you said rear I thought you meant rear of the case, not the side panel rear :o
Theres plenty of room mate and it comes with a dozen cable ties to tie to the hooks on the inside panel, its a bit messy but the case hides it from view so im not concerned
looks great :D always liked that case

Looks great, big improvement over your old case.
Im not sure what causing it but under stress my previous CPU temps were peaking at 49/50C now they are barely making it to 45C!
massive improvement in air flow and theres very few places where there isnt a vent - pr0nographic case with more than enough tools to do the job :D
Old case = ewwww
New case = :drool::drool:

Liking the case, good setup :thumb:
Those blue LEDs look sweet in the headder of the case!
Cool build!

Hmmm undecided. The paint makes it look really poor and plastic like.
How loud is it under normal conditions?

How loud is it under normal conditions?
It makes next to no noise ATALL on full fan speed. Almost inaudible! I can make a video of it if you wish?
The material feel well made, the paint has a great finish and the parts are quality!
cant recommend this enough :D

very nice :) did someone need to use a 4pin atx extender? ;)
yep, the 4pin wouldnt connect the way i wanted it - it was about 3 inches too short, so i used an extender rather than routing the cable over my motherboard :D
well spotted :)

take all your cables apart and braid them.
replace all white connectors with black ones
and add in some lasers and some mirrors
oh god i just farted and it smells D: what was in that roast i had today? :/
the cables are braided, its just the braid doesnt quite reach the ends properly when the cables are stretched so far.

no that doesnt count as braiding...........................
It does its job well enough for now, cabled braiding can be expensive and time consuming - its a possibility for the future but not something id want to do at the moment as im looking to improve the hardware first :)
video review! get one done :P

Just out of interest will the Alpenföhn Matterhorn fit in there?
Just out of interest will the Alpenföhn Matterhorn fit in there?
I should imagine so, its a very similar size to the Fenrir heat sync
Fenrir - 124 x 107 x 156 mm
Matterhorn - 138x100x158mm
I think i'll give it a miss mate, I dont have a video recorder other than the one on my phone :)
just noticed the back has a button to turn on some blue LED's on the top 200mm fan - very shexy!
How much was the case? Its sexy :D

i cant stand not being able to brush my hair D:
by an ATX 24pin extender from ebay for like £2, by a load of white braiding

and make yourself something like this but by doing it yourself will be better quality..

alternatively just by the nzxt extensions :P if you cba but by doing it yourself it will look a lot better.
that does look awesome, might have to check some videos on youtube first though - not something ive looked into before and it'd be best to try and grasp how big of a job it would be

nzxt extentions are very very nice high quality and probably cost around the same as buying heat shrink, braiding, tools etc to do it yourself separately

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG
the NZXT are for a quick route only, theyre pretty low quality braiding and they dont appear to be see thru as they use coloured wires.
BEST TO DIY
ian help is here ;D if you wanna do something like that its not a problem
loads of videos on youtube.

btw.. heatgun = candle ;D
I saw a photo of the sata briad on one of the links, I've no idea where to begin with such a task but i`ll do my research first instead of diving in :)

it can be time consuming but its well worth it :P
best thing to do is practise on something simple such as fan cables.
will take not more than 5-10 mins to do a fan cable on your first try tbh once youre a bit practiced you could do a cable in mere minutes.
i currently doing my 24pin red and black each alternating wire :)
Does the braid work like a chinese finger trap, you pull it and it tightens then you just tape it into place?
or am i way off?
I3R0K3N7FEET
03-11-10, 17:52
yeh thats how it werks :)
only hassle would be fitting the wires back into the plugs i reckon
start off with a crappy fan it's kinda easy.
heres one i done though i used low quality braid ....

youre making it more complicated that it really. it.. unless youre modding the psu, doing an extension wont matter as long as youve lined them all up but there are diagrams etc online if you get stuck.. or number them all in a way you will remember

I braided my power cables using nothing more than a small screwdriver,
The cables in the connectors have small latches that prevent them from coming out of the connector housing all you need to do is bend the latch and they will come out, then you braid the cable then bend the latches back out then insert it back in the connector housing and jobs a gooden.
im buyin this case too today.. did u buy from aria? out of 7 fans how mani fans did it come installed?
i was looking at braiding my stuff to would so loook so much better in u case as well all white matching the case perfect
