These are the only Platinum rated power supplies on the market to the date of posting.

this makes up just 0.1% of all PSUs tested by ECOS from several hundred makers.

lol it seems that either platinum is hard to achieve or the makers are using efficiency as a selling point like, bronze silver gold etc.. they havent reached platinum yet and are waiting to create an elitest group of psus? maybe...

to be honest, efficiency is not the be all and end all but those PSU look good. Wonder what the prices are...

Think I read an interview with Antec's PSU Marketing Manager (can't remember where though) that it's damn hard to achieve a Platinum-efficiency PSU, especially at a half-decent price point - I think if it was easy, more manufacturers would be doing it.

I suspect gold-rated PSUs will still take a good 2-3 years to come down in price to silver-rated PSU levels.

Yeah consumer version would cost small fortune to make but in time it probably become more reasonable.
