View Full Version : Virgin Media Have A Big Network Issue
lol you may have noticed but at around 21:30 everyone who has Cable Broadband with Virgin Meida got disconnected.
I wonder why, iv been told because the DHCP servers are overloaded but im sure there will be a news story about this tomorrow with more information.
Good Old Virgin
UPDATE: ok the reason everyone got disconnected was because all the modems tried to do an update but the update failed due to a Incompatible SW file
Awesome! I wondered wtf was going on.
And what a clever time for an update, right when a huge number of people are using it, not say, sometime in the early morning when usage is lightest, ohono...

I noticed downtime on the 16th but not yesturday. It was around the same time though. It was reconnected within 60 seconds from me noticing.

I was disconnected, stupid, every weekend apart from the last i have had atleast 12 hours downtime, 36 one weekend.
Everyone went down last night for a maintanance and box update. I was up and running again this morning.
I was up and running after about 2 minutes. Just had to reset the modem, guess I was lucky.

Are you going to ask for a 15-minute refund on your bill?
I will ask for a month of free connection due to mine being down all night!

They always say they will refund me with my downtime and never do, and refund the cost of the supposed free call

Every weekend for 5 weeks, sometimes half a day, sometimes 1 and a half. Once would be acceptable but every weekend "the cable has been cut".
Our adsl was a bit like that when we first went online, i think it was partly due to a **** line (noisey) but you could almost set you watch to when it would go off, every day usually between 6-7pm and it came back on around 10pm so it was only peak times, we eventually got bt around and they rewired the line into our house and the house extensions and now, touch wood, its ok 99.9% of the time.
Sounds to me like your exchange, whatever the cable equivalent is, is over subscribed Peter.
We had a week of no B/B or phone at my old unit.
So thats no e-mail and no calls. How much business did we loose!?
BT offered us.........£30:lol:
Didnt even bother to fill in the form and claim it.
I did a search for my exchange its about a mile away and is called "MR WOO"
LOL
