Im looking to build a new pc for home use, and im wanting to know if all this gear is compatable 1st and secondly if not what alternative would you surgest?
also i need a dule dvd writer what would you suggest that would be compatable.
and is there anything else i would need appart from opperating system to make this fella work?
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.80GHz (Retail AM2) #26635
Jetway M25GT6-SG nForce 550 - Socket AM2 #27827
Patriot 1GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance #26990
160GB Seagate Barracuda IDE 8MB #26083
Arianet Xen MIDI case #27725
Thanks for your imput.
Paddy.
Hi paddy i read somewhere on this site that the Patriot Mem -C4 ,it says that on the out side of the box, inside its C5- you can only get C4 if you over clock it,thats if you know how to?me i dont have a clue, stick around the clever ones will be around soon,be lucky
No, no idea.
But thaks for the heads up.

DVD-RW - 26576
PSU too - 29090
Presume you have a monitor? graphics card? keyboard mouse etc..
Hi Paddy
The situation with Patriot 1GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance C4 and in fact all memory labeled "EPP"
is that in order to take advantage of extra performance you need to have a motherboard that supports "EPP" or manual
setup of dimm voltage and memory timings in the Bios. otherwise the memory will run at a timing similar to standard (cheaper) memory of the type.
(Lower end boards can use "EPP" memory but do not take advantage of it.)
I have looked on Aria page and on the Jetway page and cant see any mention of support for "EEP" and i cant download a .PDF manual
for this motherboard which would show the bios setup, so assuming worst case of no EPP and/or no bios memory setup the Patriot 1GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance would run at CL5-5-5-16 (instead of the performance setting of CL4-4-4-12 )
Had a look at the ASUS M2N-MX motherboard too and that has no voltage control so that would run the Patriot 1GB at CL5-5-5-16 by default also
Running at these lower(CL4) timings theoretically make a faster memory system ,but apart from running games and possibly duel graphics card setup's I myself don't see any improvement over the CL5-5-5-16 timings apart from shortening video encoding time from 90mins to 85mins (APROX)
By far the best way to improve memory performance is to run in Duel channel ,maybe you could find some 2x PC-6400- 512mb
Like the;
Kingston 512MB PC2-6400 CL5 £9.05 exc. VAT
two of these would be faster that one Patriot 1GB £13.95exc. VAT
Basically if you're concerned about getting the last drop on performance out of "performance memory" you need to make sure the MB supports
EPP or manual memory setup in bios. If you simply want to put together a decent system choose the fastest "PC2" memory your motherboard supports
and when possible run in duel channel with CL5 memory and forget about the CL4 stuff..
Arianet Xen MIDI case is a very nice looking case but if your planing to drop one or even two graphics cards onto this motherboard
the PSU power supply in this case may not be able to provide enough juice.,I'm just an Aria customer and i don't have this case so I don't know for sure if it will power a Dual Core 5600+ CPU , you may need to spend £20 -£30 on a better PSU.
