I was number 3.

Although, I still can't get over the fact two more people in my tiny area voted for us. Most people here don't know what broadband is, other that it makes interwebz fast.

guess it's about the money...lack of interest in your area means lack of uptake so slower roll out in that area.

I think the vote system is stupid....

Its not fair for my area as only 50% have the Internet.

So i will be the last to get Fiber :(

BT would be better just working up the country.

jackster if they start installing fibre to areas they will get no return on they will run out of money before they finish.

its just common business sense

Good to see my preposterously crap exchange (EANAY) in Suffolk has 80 votes so far. Crawling along at 1Mb/s (110KB/s on a good day) with no opportunity to upgrade is painful, especially after having experienced uni internet.

Vote percentage for my tiny exchange is 1.7%

34/1923

I think that's quite well going considering the area.

rural area? big exchanges close by?

We're fairly rural, 10 minutes from Newcastle.

Closest exchange is ~5000 Premises but is already on the list for upgrade.

We appear to be the highest percentage of votes for the north east, I'm going to get my brother to beg for votes from the community :P

I WILL GO FROM 4MB TO 40MB!

You either need to be in upper managerment @ BT or on an exchange that they can get maximum return on investment to get your FTTC or FTTH quickly. Exchanges with less than 1000 lines won't get a look in until the others have been done!

I read a story in a national newspaper about one of the top bods @ BT who moved out to a village in one of the Shire counties. The locals had been campaigning for fast internet, and would have been happy with a mere 'upto 8Mb' service as they were currently struggling with maximum 1/2Mb service for the lucky ones, and other poor souls were still using dial-up! Anyhow, within a few weeks of this big cheese moving to their village, they miraculously and suddenly got a fat pipe to their local exchange. The big cheese had obviously made some noises as he was struggling to work from home - anyone would when it takes half an hour to download an attachment (especially when after the wait it turns out to be an very unfunny joke from a colleague)

If your town/city is already on the BT infinity list for a certain date then I don't need to vote right? Or is the vote just to make them come to your area faster? It seems they are doing almost every area :S, anyway they say mine should be done before 31st December.
