Hi all
few months ago I managed to win a new base unit from that auction site :P, i sold on my old p4 478 machine and thus have £150 to do a few upgrades.
Heres what I got:
X-Blade case with standard psu
2gb ddr2
e6750 dual core
7200gs pci-e
400gb sata
pioneer dvdrw
plus a blitzstorm azenX pci sized cooler/exhaust fan.
am lookin to upgrade:
the psu for a quiet as possible one with a nice big fan too.
a nice silent 120mm fan for the back as the standard one i bought locally is just too noisy.
a nice comfortable mouse, must have at least 5 buttons, wired or wireless
gfx card
maybe a tv card too or even a vga card with tv in capability?

i like my keyboard, monitor and I got tons of external HD space (a 120gb of music, 320gb backup and a 400gb media drive)
What do i use the PC for?
Internet, torrents, burning dvds etc
as a cd/hifi replacement (got a 5.1 setup)
lots of digital image stuff as i do a fair bit of photography at gigs.
web design-i run websites for a coupla bands and my martial arts club.
The only time I ever play games is if something really catches my eye and its usually something based on a movie, comic or tv show. last games I did on my old P4 with a radeon 9550 256, were the Lego Star Wars ones. I dont have the patience for RPGs or Sim type things. I generally dont have the time, but its always nice to have the option!
I looked at something like an 8500gt.
I basically want, quick, quiet, efficient.
I have Cable TV atm so I dunno bout a TV card but it might be handy cos I have no recorder of any kind since my dvd-rec went to my sister as i wasnt using it and i retired the ol' VHS.
Could come in handy for doing vids of gigs and martial arts seminars.
Either way,got £150 to spend.
