Hi all,
bought a Dell Inspiron (cheapy) to take to Afghanistan with me.... Since I've bought it having issues randomly with thte touchpad. It jjust locks out straight after start up. I have checked for conflicts and nothing. Eventually I stopped the touchpad services Apoint.exe and restarted the machine and it works again, for how long I don't know.... Is anyone or has anyone had the same experience with a touchpad and have they found a way around it?

:weeeePS drivers are upto date and after forum searches I had changed zooming properties etc to no avail.....

My sister has a dell Inspiron and the touchpad completely died within 6 months of getting it.

She got a small laptop mouse and has been using that ever since. The only reason we haven't sent it back is because she prefers a mouse.

Me thinks that might be the way forward....:thumb:

It seems to be a common problem with dell, the same problem is listed on countless forums.

had that issue with the wifey's ancient advent laptop, turned out was a fault with the whole keyboard/fascia being compressed, and possibley something to do with wine she spilled on it.

Hi Hakanese, please check the last post date on threads :)

A bit of an old one this, not as epic as some thread revivals, but still :)
