i know but sometimes if you dont ask you dont get :D you have to be cheeky once and a while  give it a go and see what they say anyway but if they say no then just say ah ok and take the galaxy s as both are really good phones anyway :p
I'm with callumburns - try for the Desire HD and I am always a bit wary of having a handset for 2 years rather than 12 or 18 months personally
Ive been looking into the HTC Desire HD and I can only find it available at Orange and vodafone. O2 say they are never getting it, and none of the others seem to offer it either.
Best HTC Desire deal I've found is 500mins, 3000txts, 500mb data and free phone for £30 a month.

Be lucky to get a decent smartphone then without paying a lot for it as they are all pretty much 24 month contracts now.
Go on three website htc desires for £25 refurb, they wont have any in stock so will offer you a galaxy s ;)
I'm on vodafone for my Desire 600mins calls, unlimited SMS, unlimited data, free phone £35 per month, 18 month contract. had it for 6 months now. May get a better deal as I also pay for my wife's identical phone and tariff...

Got the same deal with My SGS. Works out as £630 for the whole contract vs £600 for OP's deal but we can upgrade 6 months earlier, worth the extra £30 imo. :P

Thats a fantastic deal but the network is PANTS
I got that exact deal in the OP. VERY happy with it too.
The reception from three is really good nowadays, they've moved on a lot since the ealy days when it was pants. Their 3G seems second to none in the areas I can usually be found (Bristol/Essex).
EDIT: Forgot I also got £15 off my first bill and a free bluetooth headset in addition to the deal in the OP.
Thats a nice deal, might take a look
The CS is pants, the network is stunning, its not anything but 3G due to the fact they dont have non 3G masts, so always good, FAST signal!
Last night I order a HTC Desire HD £25 pm, 500mins, 500txts, 500mb, 24 mths, free phone on TMobile. Happy with that :)

3 is the only network to be on where we live
i don't have to mess around with balancing my phone on cupboard tops and :censored: like my missus and her mates (even with the carp signal the iPhone gets ;) ) :)
they most definitely are not the joke network they were when they started out.
my first choice these days.

You use Orange's 2G GSM network when you're out of range of 3's 3G network.

Well.. yes. But with the way three firmware goes, you usually find everything but calls and text are next to impossible in a 2G only area. I dont have a problem though, my house and my uni flat give awesome signal.
Best tmobile deal at the moment from mobiles.co.uk
Galaxy S
24month contract
600 minutes
500 text
Unlimited landline (or unlimited text!)
3GB internet.
For £25 a month, no handset cost.

So you got to 3 instead? :chairfall:
The CS is pants
Haha, as convoluted as it sounds, three may be pants generally, I personally have had nothing but good from them. But my brother on the other hand was put into an 18 month contract without agreeing it, and they refused to move ownership after doing the correct form etc multiple times.
tmob customer service are excellent when compared to 3 :chairfall:
Now part of Orange too, so orange reception when no tmob, and orange customer service standards being brought in :+1
Only orange 2G for now. Orange have always been good. Three definitely are getting better though.
Tmob 3g coverage is excellent anyhow
you only need to ask tystar about 3, that was enough to put me off for life :knock:

just to weigh in on the CS discussion, currently with 3, they are pants...
picked up my orange San Fran the other day and within a few hours had an account issue... their indian call centre was even more useless than 3's!!
just gone with Tesco's 1 month rolling sim only contract, 500 mins, unltd* texts and 500Mb for £10 pm. (O2 network)
had a customer service issue, and phoned them up.
UK call centre.
sure the guy had a script to follow, but was actually able to understand my off-script problem, and got it sorted out after a bit of umming and ahhing and asking for help
tmob are UK call centre too, and every call i've made so far they've been overhelpful LOL

good to know :D
they even send you a text after call with a survey of how helpful they were :+1
Very tempted by this deal as I am just about to upgrade (28th if memory serves) and I'm 3, so this could be worth looking at. I currently have a Samsung Blade which isn't bad, but isn't great either.
I'm looking for either an Iphone 4, HD Desire or other phones around that spec. How does this phone compare to the Iphone and Desire?
Better than an HTC desire, on a par with iphone 4, larger screen AMOLED vs retina display.
Either way, Very good phone soon before they get desires back in. Ask for DESIRE REFURB, and they should get you sorted on this deal.
Thanks mate i'll give them a bell and see what they offer.
Doesn't the iPhone 4 have some apps disabled where as Android phones allow all apps?
True, but they are letting more and more apps on iphone all the time.

I like the idea of having Skype on your phone :D
The sgs actually gives you a option to call using the phone or skype when it's installed :D
Not a happy camper at all...
Just phoned 3 and confirmed I was due an upgrade, and asked for the deal mentioned in the OP by asking for the Desire refurb and then hoping for the Galaxy S for £25pm.
She told me it wasn't possible and they couldn't do any deals like that as it would normally cost approximately £35/£40pm.
I told her that was fine and that I would just find another network and she still didn't budge.
She did offer me a Nokia N8 for £25pm and a Nokia E5 for £22pm, they were swiftly rejected...
Lets hope I get a call back offering me what I want. I'm not hopeful though...

just get pac code and go on tmob, best deal going :D
Ask for your PAC code, that's what I did and they offered me that deal (and more!).

From talking to a few friends who had T-Mobile in the past in Northern Ireland, their coverage was very poor. I've just checked and it seems they are the worst Network available in NI, might hold out till the dying days of this contract and see if they come up with something special. If not, I'm going to bust their chops until they do - although speaking to someone in an Indian Call Centre with a thick Belfast accent is hard enough without me being stroppy. It would make for some good listening though...
