A customer removed the heatsink from his CPU because he thought the weight would snap the board... with the inevitable consequences.

This has to be believably TRUE, I my self have sometimes though some things such as heat-sinks and cards to be unbelievably heavy and been surprised they don't snap the main board, i can also be sure that many more amitures and even pro's have had the though pass through their minds before now!

but the question is how many would actually admit to having such a humiliating(noobish) though?

my mate actually phoned me the other day, asking whether it's possible to run without CPU cooler, as he removed it for shipping from his home to uni, and can't find the heatsink for the moment. i won't name him, but if you've played BFBC2 on Aria server, you'll know who im talking about. ;)

True. Those heat sinks are heavy and if they get any bigger, it'll need a redesign - probably with the heat sink mounted to the case as well as the motherboard.

according to my PC's time synced but time windows wonderlust closed the comp 2 mins before 2pm so i would say you just got in and that by default we should all win the prize due to the comp being closed early :p
