Been having a lot of trouble with our router recently and I thought I'd post it on here to see what you guys thought.
Basically, we have a D-Link DIR-615 n router (the one that comes with virgin media) which I flashed with DD-WRT. It's given us nothing but trouble:
1. UPnP won't seem to work properly on with multiple Xbox 360 consoles. One console gets an open NAT, the other two either moderate or strict. Manual port forwarding works sometimes but not all the time. I thought this was pretty odd as I have a Linksys WRT54GS with DD-WRT which will work absolutely fine with UPnP.
2. Xbox lag issues over wireless G. My console has a G adapter, the other two have N, one is an adaper, the other is a new console so it's built in. Every few seconds (approx 5-10) my connection drops off very momentarily. This is noticeable both in gameplay and in game lobbies where the "waiting for party leader" flashes momentarily when the drop off occurs. I've tried a different G adapter which doesn't help, and my mates N adapter which works fine; so the problem is definately G.
I've restored the routers original firmware, which seems to have fixed the UPnP issue, however the original firmware isn't ideal; it tends to lock up when downloading heavily. This also didn't solve the xbox live lag issue.
Any ideas what on earth is going on? I'm convinced that router just sucks majorly.
