Hi guys I haven't posted on here for ages.
Problem new pc built by my bro and the there is nothing on the monitor, powering up but not booting. He is using core 2 E6650, cosair DDR3 bought the mobo a couple of months before CPU and memory.
I think the bios is not upto date and needs flashing.
Any idea's if it could be something else.
He bought the board from aria.
Thanks Mike
does it has the DDR3 motherboard or the DDR2 motherboard?
you have to be carefull as there the same type of motherboard except one has wifi and supports DDR3 and the other justs support DRR2 and no wifi.
Iv checked the Asus website and the latest BIOS is 2007/11/12 update so you might want to try the bios update aswell.

Correct me if i am wrong but it doesn't matter if the ram isn't supported it will just run at lowed speeds or is that just DDR2 for example, the mobo only supports 800mhz RAM but you out in 1066mhz RAM, it'd just run slower?
Or am i making that up
your wrong peter, the motherboard only supports DDR3, not DDR2 or DDR1.

Its DDR3 with wi-fi. I remember I had a asus board that wouldn't work with ocz memory and it wouldn't boot, premium ram made by cosair, ocz ect will not work with some boards no matter what is done by the mobo manufacturer. I had to change boards. Again I had a board where the bios was not updated to work with the latest AMD socket 939 processor, I didn't have another chip to use to flash bios, that was another board. I couldn't of waited until a new bios chip came from Abit, sold the board on ebay for about the same price I paid for it.
Anyway the cosair memory bought checked out with asus for compatiability.
well the only thing i can say is for you to update the BIOS to the update i gave you in my other post and see what happens.
