Might provide a decent Zombie fix until WWZ is released.
Been reading the comic series for a while and it's hugely engrossing.

Its alright, pretty gory in places, very 28 days later at the start.
Worth a watch.

Definately had a 28 days later feel to it at the start but it seems to have thrust in feet first, seems like it has great potential but i still cant help feeling that it wont last long as much as i would like it to.
The best thing about it is that its got a decent budget per episode so the CGI and makeup is spot on.
Has a bit of depth to it as well, someone actually sat down and thought about the characters and how they would feel in certain situations as well.

Dudes it was great! :) and there's real love for the Graphic Serialisation (Something I would call a "comic book") in there in the way it's being shot - Honestly you could have superimposed several frames of the 1st couple of issues over the TV and not seen a difference 'cept it would be black & white - like when Rick is riding into Atlanta on the clear side of the freeway with all the cars jammed and abandoned on the other side and the city looming up ahead.... perfect.
It's only going to get better if that was any indication of things to come - You'll become totally involved with the characters - the girl playing Andrea (the blond on the CB) looks so like she does in the comic it's scary - hope they can all act as well as the guys playing Rick/Shane/Lori too!
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series immensely!

Ooo an opportunity to test the merged post thingie...
Just watched the new episode - feel a bit let down as it veered a fair bit from the comic - Rick as I recall meets Glen alone in Atlanta and together they get out and back to the camp just fine - no idea who all the extra people were in this episode...
Nvm, t'was still pretty awesome - the bit with them walking through the streets trying to blend in was straight out of my worst nightmares. (and reminds me of the bit in Shaun of the Dead just before they get to the Winchester pub)
Edit: darn, didn't work.... Sorry for the double post.
I'm finding it quite boring and tame so far.
I agree, the start was very 28 days later although I first thought of the day of the triffids before 28 days. Bit of a stretch really but I remember reading it as a kid. Thinking about it, the waking up in a hospital has been used an awful lot.
John Wyndham is a legend, i have the majority of his books.
Anywho, this is now SFX on Sky.
Episode 2 is very Left4Dead i think, but as mentioned the Zombie thing has been done a lot and its difficult to stand apart from whats been done before and from what sticks in peoples minds.
Personally i like it, although the emotion and character depth was a good thing, they could quickly overplay it and be too "arty" and ruin the whole thing.
Enjoying it atm though.

Just got around to watching the first episode. Never seen the comics so I dont have to worry about comparisons or "faithful representation". Still, I rather liked it.... Some good emotion to go with the gore, horror and action.
Nice to see "proper" zombies again after the last few years have all been about "infected".

I'm really enjoying this.
Have read all the graphics novels up to.... I cant remember! They are lying about some where. I think they are faithfully done and with Kirkman on board you cant say much against it can you? Roll on Episode 3!
I've been catching up on The Walking Dead in the last week. It's pretty good, although Andrew Lincoln as the lead is strange because of his stint as completely wet characters like the one in Teachers.
I like that the pacing is more thoughtful than some of the recently fashionable style of everything being quite relentless.
