Why wouldn't it be 1.1 some devices still are
I was going to ask that too. Whys that a weird question? I thought it was more helpful than anything!
ok maybe i should have rephrased that and said "would i really buy a 1.1 USB drive bay?"
but anyway Peter you do somtimes ask weird question.
Or you could have said "No, Its USB2." ;)
got this one, not bad at all

yea was jsut looking at that, but its not for 2 hard drives, wel it doesnt say it is anyway.
What sort of size (data wise) will you be storing on the external disk?
If it's less than 1Tb then that product will do. (It does support the 1Tb disks.)
ill probley be sticking in 2 500GB Sata Hard Drives in there.
i have 2 rapotrs in my PC already so what i was thinking of doign is.
just using 1 Raptor just for Windows XP ONLY nothing else on there.
All my Games go onto my other Raptor, any other program files on one of my 500Gb Hard Drives and then anything i download or do work on will be on the other Hard Drive.
Might want to consider the ac ryan range, they are networkable too.
you got any links so i can see what there like please?
if i go to http://www.acryan.com/
it just says CONNECTED thats it
one of these?

yup looks like that could be the one, think they do a sata one if you already have the drives to put in it.
Why are they not firewire? I thought that was faster then USB2?
And off topic but when is USB3 out?
I hope they do a SATA one.
they do do a sata one, google for it, and firewire 800 is faster than usb2 but normal firewire isn't, usb2 480mbps firewire 400mbps i'll let you work out how fast firewire 800 is ;)

Hmmm... nope, I give up. You're gonna have to give me a clue.. :D ;)
iv gave up as soon as i knew i had to do some work
i can only find the SATA version, iv read the review on http://www.3dgameman.com/content/view/10407/45/ about the SATA version and its seems really good but i carnt find it anywhere to buy. Going tos ee if Aria can get any of them in.,

I've seen SATA ones on Aria somewhere
yes but i dont want just any SATA one i want the one we have been talking about.
I can't find anywhere with the sata one either. Though tbh Micky the sata one wont be any quicker than the ide one as they will both only be as quick as the usb / lan connection will allow, which is alot slower than any internal drive connection. Unless you have the drives already to put in it you should consider the ide one if thats the caddy you want.
If you want a FAST connection then you should be looking for a caddy with an esata connection that can connect to a motherboards esata input.
my dam Asus P5W DH Deluxe doesnt have eSata :(
I can only find the IDE one on 1 site aswell though. Have the company gone bust or somthing as there site doesnt work aswell.
Doh told you you should have got a proper mobo ;)
Seriously though i doubt they have gone bust, i reviewed the ide duo box only a month or 2 ago. I have found several places with that in stock and a couple of places in europe with the sata box, no idea if they would ship to uk though and the sites are all in foreign.
:(
infact i think it does have eSATA, it has 2 red slots at the back of the pc above my USB Slots on the motherboard and dont have a clue what they are.
Sounds like an esata slot they are red on Asus mobo's, i take my last statement back then :D
:D back in the game :p
We just need to find a dual caddy (assuming you still want / need dual drives) with an esata connection.
2 x SATA 3.0Gbps interface (1 x shared eSATA port) :D
