View Full Version : Constant Driver crashes
I'm getting rather a lot of driver crashes on my ASUS 5770 recently. When I upgrade drivers I always make sure I clean it all out and use driver sweeper to make sure.
I'm getting them in games but also in media centre and I'm trying to figure out if it's the driver, the card or the OS.
Card works flawlessly and hasn't risen about 72º when pushed hard and when the display driver crashes, it always resets itself and carries on as normal.
VPU recovery?
Where Monkey when you need him lol.

Any overclocking on the card ?
Card is stock... it seems to do it on intros in certain games. Civ 5 for example would always do it on the video intro... solution, turn of the intro. Never happens in game on that.
But it does happen in game on Crysis and it's also happened with NFS Shift.
Temps seem fine, the highest I've seen the card get is about 72º
Using 10.9 drivers, upgraded from 10.5 last week... but the issue has been around a couple of weeks.

From reading the title I thought you had had a run in with my son's girlfriend.

I get a similar issue with my 5850 when having a flash video open as well as a game. Not sure on the cause, however it seems more common on the latest drivers. I'm only getting it once every few days on 10.4
main game BFBC2 and Driver version 10.9 or 10.8 at a guess?
10.9 yes, BFBC2 no.
The only game I've been playing this week has been Civ 5 and once I sorted out the crash during the opening intro (disabled it), the game itself hasn't sufered a single driver reset at all. Not noticed any happening on CODMW2 either.
But I was getting them on Crysis, NFS-Shift and Supreme Commander 2.
