For bang for buck I think this is the ultimate sub £600 high end gaming build. Forget spending £1500 on a gaming system - this will do it all >>>

Is it really worth going for a Quad Core over a high end C2D ?

Yes! Quad can handle any game out at the moment and the highest 3dMark scores are achieved with a Quad. Now through 2008 all the new games coming out which will be optimised for quad the dual core buyers will suffer. Quad is the future, and with the chance to get one at the same price as a dual then its a no brainer.

4 cores vs 2.

4 everytime.

edit. yeah and OC wise they are sick!

Okay. I tend to only restrict my overclocking to 15% but if I get one i might be tempted to go a little more.

What cpu and cooling do you have? A C2D could easily do that on stock cooling and stock voltages, probably ALOT more, with decent cooling 50% overclocks are quite easily achieved, i have got 2 of my C2D's currently overclocked by 50% without too much effort.
