Wow, I was really considering a blue motherboard in my CM enforcer. Don't know about that now.. Asus Maximus Series, here I come?!
If I had a bigger budget I would have gotten a nice red black one but no, cant be picky with 600 quid.
Edit: Also that had a massive flash on, it looks nice with a blue mobo.

how hard is it for a first timer to take a gfx cooler off and fit a water block?
Straight forward, you can't really go wrong if you follow the instructions and there are not a lot of those.

Knowing that, it still makes me somewhat dizzy? Illusion I suspect!
silverstone case aint it?
strawbs has it but with blue accents and they are nice, cool way of doing the layout imo :D
Aye it is, my two cases before this have had the same design and im too used to it now to use a normal layout.
FT03 mATX case before and the FT02 case before that, FT02 is exactly the same inside just uses aluminium and steel instead of steel and plastic.
Need to get some replacement windows made up for this since they get scratched SO easy!.

mounting is annoying, with 2011 i have to mount it before i mount the ram else i cant tighten 2 of the bolts

a lot easier though the problem then is that if you dont have a lot of space at the top of your case it can be extremely difficult to plug in your 8pin connector, luckily the phantom does, if not i recommend getting a 8pin extention and plugging it in before you put the motherboard in the case :)

Hi everybody,
i recently purchased a hp proliant microserver which i will be using as a main machine while waiting for the ivy brigde processors, if anybody wants to see the pictures please let me know?
p.s. i know this is not a real computer in terms of processing power and is originally designed to be used as a small server, but i have to say its quite a nifty machine and is quite fast and certainly i cant fault it, and its build quality is second to none. I am intending to install a ssd drive to give it that extra boost and also intending to install another 4GB ram so it should do the job a little while.
Let me know about the pics.

Update! tidied cables and new additions (GTX 680 and 1TB F3 instead of two 500GB F3's) the non-sleeved cables ruin it >:(.

I actually really like the case, more than i thought i would - it even has a removable tray! The Lian-Li A05 is definitely worth a look as well as its only a bit deeper (as in front to back) yet can accommodate a full ATX.
As you can see from the picture its pretty dusty inside, although i think thats more to do with the house we've moved into as a find myself hoovering the inside of the case very other day.

Yeah I've always had a soft spot for the A05, as well as mini ITX builds. Might be time for a change soon.
I'm impressed with the removable motherboard tray, the case seems to offer a lot of value tbh.

The Silverstone PS07 is essentially the same case but without the aluminium bezel and has a door on the front so its quieter, whilst costing less, so that may be worth a look.
Just noticed there is an A04 by Lian-Li as well, proper uATX sized.

It really is awful mate, I've spent longer trying to get the sidepanel on then reapplying thermal paste on the cpu and cable tidying. I've also had to use sticky mounts to cable tidy the back since the case only has about 3 fixed points.

I don't understand why people pay the prices they do for 775 stuff.
Loved my old 775 rig though especially when i overclocked my E2180 to 3GHz as it was my first overclocking attempt. The only thing i hated was those damn push pins on the stock cooler, i think i broke 2 or 3 sets of them so had to get a cheap interim cooler which was that golden orb II which was about comparable to the stock cooler.
Quite surprised though at my cable management looks actually pretty good for me.

Sound and looks pretty much, i used to have 1p12 and 2p14s on the cooler and they got a bit loud, so i wnt through a phase of swiching out and moving positions of the fans. This worked out to be the best performance to noise i also like the look of it.
I do like Silverstone though some have started complaining they now use alot more plastic than they used to.

CPU, RAM, and MB all from yesterdays deals: G620, White Exceleram, and an ASRock Z75 Pro 3 (As far as i can tell, exactly the same as the Z77 board but cheaper).
Resulted in a nice white/black (where possible) build for my brother.

Amazed myself as well. The 900 I had was great but lacking in cable management so had to change really to something newer. I really though my PSU would be a bigger problem than it was since it's not got the longest cables but after my first attempt i realized the fan had to be pointing down so that the cables came out closer to gromits and were then able to reach farther. Only real problem was/is that the 24pin is stretched about as far as it will go, the 20pin part is not too bad but the separate 4 pin is really tight but at least it's in.
Overall though i am super pleased how it turned out.

Even though I have cable extensions, I still have my PSU fan down so I can get an extra 2 inches or so of cable and I prefer it with the fan down too - lower risk of accidentally dropping something inside it and they dont generate much heat so as long as there us some sort of ventilation or gap, it should stay cool enough.

looks like he just pulled the curtain aside to light his desk to me?
on the outside what does the aircon look like ....does it have a big box outside?
is it noisy?
I have a portable its great but would like a silent one
Nope, I just couldn't be arsed to open them all the way. Not sure if you guys know about em, but with A/C's you can get a standard one, or an inverter. The standard jobs have a set BTU, say 9000 BTU, for hot and cold. The motor switches on and off trying to maintain the temp you chose. Inverter units are reported to 30-50% on the leccy because it fluctuates it's output. An inverter also has higher BTU, so for cooling mine has 9000, but for heating has 11000 say. They're also meant to be a lot quieter, and also affected less so by the weather conditions outside than a standard a/c.

I am very impressed by how little noise the external unit makes. The unit is about three metres to the right of the window on a bracket (about 6 metres above the ground, mounted on the side of our building). A 9000 BTU is suitable for a room of around 18 to 20 square metres. In Greece, a bog standard 9000 BTU will cost around 228 pounds (excluding installation which is around 70-80 quid here) while the inverter costs around 320 pounds ex installation. I went for the Samsung basically because it mentioned a 2 year warranty on the internal unit and 5 year on the external.

Was this at me? I got mine from IKEA on offer for 36 quid on special offer. We bought 3 of them :D Price has gone back up to 145 pounds :weeee Best part about it is how deep the desk is, Means my eyes don't do this  too much with the U2711.

My new Server and HTPC rigs :) These things are awesome!! Such low power usage and no issues with running any program at all..
The HTPC uses a total of 24w at most whilst watching a full 1080P movie and the server with all the drives and fans etc connected, uses 22w at the desktop at idle :) I really love these AMD setups!! Its just such a shame AMD can't really compete with Intel at the top levels :(
The 650w PSU in the first pic with the server, used a fair bit more power than the 350w model that was in the second picture.. Very interesting results :)
Nice rigs! Suitable choice of kit for the both of them too.
Thank you for the kind comments!! They are both very competent rigs for what they do and with those M4 SSD's they are so nice to use its such a welcome relief!! I just need to get myself some 2Tb drives and my server is complete and a nice case for my HTPC and I'm sorted!! :)
I just wonder what the heck to do with my main i7 rigs.... :(
