I went carp fishing a few weeks ago at a private lake near lancaster, sadly the new range rover sport has some annoying "features" that mean you cant leave your phone charging in it whilst you fish like you could in the past. Now if you take the keys out it turns off the fag lighter socket if you leave the keys in it it locks after a minute! so you cant charge the phone and not be in the car!

SO this meant i had to pack the spare battery and try not use my phone
this didnt go well and after 3 days both he normal battery and the spare one from the docking station was dead too
im pretty appauled at this id dimmed the screen and wot not to make the battery last longer but stiull 1.5 days is not good enough for a battery IMO..
my m8 had an IPhone with him and his was the same as mine so its not my phone on it own its all smart phones, the big screens use too much battery..

I searched and found a 3200 Mah battery pack for my phone but thats not exactly brilliant and it makes the phoen twice as thick!

are you happy with your battery life on your phone?

what phone is it and how long does it last. ??

I think in general that all handset manufacturers seem to think charging once every 24 hours is acceptable but ive had phones in the past that lasted a week with out needing charging.. I just think id rather trade some looks and features to have a phone that i can take fishing and it last past the first few days!

I do have a solution I now carry a jump pack in the boot and charge the phone off the siggy lighter on that but i shouldnt have to carry this.

The Pebble is in stock here

Quick code 41162 (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Backup+Devices/Veho+Pebble+Portable+Battery+?productId=41162)

I had the same issue with my Nexus on a recent trip to London it really drains the battery away using Google Maps etc.

This one would do the trick as well possibly.

just get a liitle geny if you need juice in the great outdoors, you can get them with .5kw for cheap these days and they are no bigger than a fishing box.

you just need a long power line to keep the geny away from the water as they can be loud.

Nokia E63, had since Friday. One full charge on friday, perhaps two hours of calling, maybe three hours of Spotify in the car and also half an hour or so on Skype chats.

1/3 battery still left. Bluetooth on, wifi on - that's a shocker if I'm honest. Most mates with smartphones they are an overnight charge every night!

My Google G1 battery lasts about 15 hours with average use.
When it was brand new 3 weeks ago it lasted 20 hours.

My old battery was lucky to last 8 hours :(

My Desire lasts about 18 hours with moderate use (a few games, browsing etc)... could easily stretch it to 36 I reckon if I barely used it and just had it with me "just in case".

HTC desire lasting about 2 days, unplugged 24 hours ago & still have 70% battery left.

Using it for calls & emailing, not gaming on it much tbh though.

Orange San Francisco:
out of the box, it was barely doing a day.

rooted and flashed so that orange's bloatware isn't there anymore, use power control widget to turn off wifi and GPS except when i want them, and switch off wireless data in the settings, don't use loads of syncing services, facebook twitter etc. and i can probably eke nearly 3 days out of it.

basically, if you need lots of uptime on one charge (going away from civilisation) then use it like a dumbphone (or get a solar or alternative charger as has been suggested)

if you wan't to use it as a games device, you'll need to be able to charge it
