Thinking of getting Sweet and Sour tonight for tea but the takeaway does two variations.

Normal and Cantonese style. Is Cantonese style the one where the meat / prawns is in batter?

Not sure about Cantonese style, we get "Hong Kong" style here and that is a very light / thin batter which i personally prefer over the batter you get on say sweet and sour chicken balls which i find quite sickly.

Cantonese style is like Sweet & Sour for grown ups - give it a try, it's dark and rich like arterial blood and the taste is just massive and dark and strong.

Makes normal sweet & sour taste a bit feeble
