Why spend £36 on a cpu fan that will not take off much more than the stock? The stock gives me temps of about 30-35 degrees, Hmm actually i might just get one...

Micky007
17-11-07, 14:23
I've spent £2000 on my PC. Picture will come soon.

EDIT: well infact more if your including monitor and speaker?

If i built my gaming pc from scratch today i probably wouldn't get much change from £1300. The case and psu £300+, £300ish for mobo and cpu, gfx £350ish, physx and sound card maybe £130, watercooling £150ish + drives and os etc.

The Architect
17-11-07, 15:22
LOL - my PC only cost about £300. It's got nothing special inside but it's extremely responsive and in no need of an upgrade. I suppose not being a gamer helps to keep the cost down!

Cos he likes music and good stuff costs good money!? My speakers were worth £800 when I got them a coupla years ago, and I think they sound awesome - they are noticabley better than the £300 ones I had before. The rest of the system is good, but not up to the same standard as the speakers - its probably worth £2k in total - and it does show that the speakers are the best bit. I would imagine with a £7k rig, the audio would be great :D

Micky007

Aaron
20-11-07, 12:42
you couldnt buy the bands and take them home and listen to them whenever you want tho!! unless they were **** bands, and then you probably wouldnt want to anyway... ;)

Micky007

lol, kidnap them

Sl4x0r

But then when you've seen all the bands - you got nothing to show for it - this way, I can listen to them whenever I want...

Besides - it helps when I produce/mix/master my own music (hence the silent PC...)

Anyone wanna listen, just let me know... :P

Marsey turn the cooler round so it draws air from ram, you will knock off about 3-5 degrees from the cpu that way.

i had it like that lynx and my cpu would idle around 32/34c with it like this its dropped to 30/32c.

i put it down to the 92mm fan on the hs not being able to push enough air over the hs fins as it was fighting with the sflex fans in the roof, by turning it this way the fans in the roof are pulling as the stock fan pushes so the work in tandum and cool the cpu better.

i will need to update that pic as i have just got my 2x2gb sticks of pc8000 so the doms are coming out and these ocz are going in.

mac124
30-01-08, 08:33
With the cpu fan over the ram, blowing air towards the rear of the case, and the rear case fan blowing out of the back of the case you should, i say should, get better results.

omg why the hell would you pay £7,000 for a HIFI?

hehehehehe because he is an "AUDIOPHILE"... I bet he has a special pen set too! - http://www.belt.demon.co.uk/product/chunky/chunky.html

or even a special mat! - http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_12_3/marigo-labs-signature-3d-mat-7-2005.html

Incidentally, I have this audio cable I am selling, using de-ionised gold plating, which gives a better sound quality as the metal is thinner and therefore causes less interference. It is braided in an inert black rubber coating and comes in at a mere £895 per meter...

Drop me a pm to let me know how much you want! :)

Old desktop - £600 when new, closest I can build it for now is approx £300 (with the closest parts still available to buy, so it's actually for a better system)

Laptop was £450 6 months ago. Equivalent now is probably about £375.

Both bought as whole systems
