So I'm looking for a new contract at the moment, and have come across this one:

£15/month plus £69.99 for an HTC Desire.

600 anytime/net minutes
Unlimited texts
500mb Data
18month contract

Seems quite good to me?

ditto, awesome deal!

I thought mine was good when I took it - £17.50pcm and £100 for the phone. Great phone too (just waiting for 2.2 to hit next week :) )

If I'd seen that i night have gone for that... as i'll be paying £15 pm to stay with 3, and just bought (and unlocked) an orange San Fran' for £100...

maybe an ebay sale is in order...

500mb data for a smart phone is awfully low compared to tmobiles 3gb fair use cap!

also snakedoc isn't impressed with his HTC, have a look at his post.

Consider the galaxy S!

HTC Desire is much more on a par with the Galaxy S. SnakeDoc had the Wildfire which is a cut-down model ;)

500mb is loads for me, but then I've nearly always got access to wireless ;)

HTC = rolls royce
samsung = renault

the build quality difference between the singles piece aluminium chassis and glass desire or the plastic but higher specced galaxy 2 hmmm

one is more powerful, one is much better made.. tbh in 18 months the desire will be very old it is pretty old now! ( 8 months)

The Desire is a very good handset just getting old now that's all.
I would have thought you might of got the phone for less.

If it was free on a contract around £20-25 with unlimited data I'd consider that but unlimited data would be a must.

Edit:

Each to there own.....

I forget though have you actually used the Galaxy properly at all????

How much is the next 500 mb or 1gb thats whats important
I get 1gb a month and often go over that and half the time voda done do anytingn and if im closer to 2gb they charge me an extra fiver so thats fine..
what is the price on three for the data once yo passed the 500 mb ?

yeah i test phones frequently right now i have a nokia,..

HTC seem to try make a phone like the IPhone which is beautifully made from exotic materials and samsung are still in the black plastic world from years back whihc is a shame as the galaxy spec screen and price etc.. are great but compared to apple, HTC or motorola the materials used are cheap.

Im not the only one who thinks the samsung is cheap its the only criticism of it well that and the ruined UI.

i've tweaked my tmob tarif

£25 per month

but swapped my internet booster free bolt on for free landline calls and they gave me "web n walk plus" for free which is the 3gb cap unlimited 2meg download speed net.

So

500 text
600 xnet mins
unlimited landline calls
unlimited net
free galaxy S

£25 a month.

Although free landline calls WTF!!!! how often will you use that wouldn't you have been better getting unlimited txt???

Again each to there own.....

Personally I like the UI as it's similier to the iPhone's which I liked. Doesn't feel cheap to me but wouldn't complain if it wasn't plastic but compromise on feel and have better specs or better build and lesser specs.

Oh and I prefer the feel of the Galaxy over the iPhone everyday. not as bulky and the iPhone looks old to me now.

i don't send more than 500 text, especially as i've got email on the move now, and gchat etc etc

but landline calls I use 1866 and 1899.com with there landline access number,

so if I need to call a 0800, 0844, 0870, 0845 08 blah blah /international number etc instead of paying 0.25p a minute to 0.50p a minute, i get a free call to 1866.com and pay them 1p a minute to ring my 0800 number etc. (this is for numbers which don't appear on saynoto0870.com)

WINNER!

also it saves my 600 mins for calling mobiles, as i use about 1000 mins a month.

ps. also love the materials used on galaxy, screen very tactile and high quality, the back is sleek and reflects the light very nicely.
