Hey Guys,
My mate was taking his Microsoft System Builder test again as they have to retake them every year, he was doing it from 21:00 and was still doing it at 3 in the morning. He stopped then and i think he is going to continue with it tonight. But anyway did you know that if you buy a new motherboard then you HAVE to pay for a new licence key and if you go to a shop and you ask them to put a new Motherboard in and reinstall XP they are not allowed to install XP because they would have violoated Microsofts rule. But i mean iv done this before and they did everything for me, so do people even follow these rules?
I know Aria do because they said to me that they carnt install XP without the cd key so i said can i not just say it over the phone and they said no they need to see the Sticker for them to do it.
But i never knew it went off your motherboard.

Thats only OEM copies.... To be honest if your pc does blow and you buy an equivilant replacement, you will get a new key off them for free no hassle.
Well i mean i knew you are supposed to install Windows onto one pc but i mean say your motherboard broke and then you buy a new one, it means you then also have to go buy a Windows License.
If Microsoft are serious about stuff like this then why dont they lock the CD Key to the serial number of the motherboard. (hope im not giving them any ideas).

Phone up microsoft and ask them. I think it's crazy that you have to go out and buy a new key just because the mobo has blown. Money grabbing barstewards.

I purchased a OEM copy of xp home about 15mths back and have done various upgrades on my system. in fact i've rebuilt it from the ground up. yet i still use the same oem copy i purchased.
Whenever I have to activate over the phone i just say it was pre-installed, used on 1 pc, and have replaced my hard drive as it was broke. they just say ok and activate over the phone. i've done this many, many times.
and NEVER had any issues. Just a little tip for everyone.
why give them more money.... I need it more.

yea thats exactly what i do, iv just say iv reformatted the pc. Iv got the same cd key working on 5 pcs lol.
btw you do know that if someone from Aria is a certified system builder and there reading these comments, they are supposed to report us lol.

Open Notepad and past this in there and save it as index.php (make sure its .php and not .txt)

The OEM XP activates every 3 months on new hardware...or so ive heard.
My copy seems to follow that rule :).

of course you do need to have an apache server running with php, on the server you upload the page to.
or you can just visit whatismyip.com

or go on start, run, cmd and type ipconfig.
Another noob way is to type ipconfig /release
*now lets see if someone does that and doesnt know how to get the ip back :lol:*
lol, or they could go into any web browser and then press ALT+F4 to see their IP

LOL, or if your going to buy somthing from Aria there a magic word to get free stuff. When you come to paying *make sure you have like 50 Tvs in your list, where it says Coupon Code type in Micky007 and hit enter, it will say its invalid but ignor it and click back then continue t pay. It will say your going to be charged like £50,000 but trust me, it wont happened and the next you will get free tvs !
