Hi,

Ok my mate just got a Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition Processor - 3.2GHz HT (2MB L3 Cache) 800MHz FSB brand new and he is selling it as he no longer needs it, now these are going for £700.

and he said he will sell for £200 or name my price. So whats better, that or my Core 2 Duo E6600?

I would say the P4 Extreme but just checking as ill prbley get it since its really cheap.

Plus he ows me £132 anyway lol

Just something I found in a review:


Video encoding was one thing I'd have thought the P4 could beat the C2D at, since they've typically been able to compete with even the fastest A64's here, but looking at the benchmarks on THG's CPU Guide, the E6600 is between 50% and 200% faster than the fastest P4 EE 3.7GHz in XViD encoding, LAME encoding and Pinnacle rendering.

I have to say, i'd always go for a C2D over an old P4.

you are aware these chips are actually about 3yr old. take the chip for £0 and tell him he still owes u the £132 and ebay the chip u might get £40 for it.
