View Full Version : Xbox and Pc games VS online.
If Xbox and Pc players can play online in FPS games vs each other - the console players will get PWNED by us pc users with mouse and Keyboard.
A control pad is no where even close to as fast as a keyboard and razor mouse setup!
What will they do? - give pc users a handicap delay or something? and will consolers have autoaim etc etc

i have had all 3 and a wii and by far i think the PS3 is better at the mo for playing games. Online is still a bit naf but its getting better and will be brill soon.
but for fun to play you can not go for anything but the Wii so much fun.
Ahhhhhhhh but the PS3 will NEVER allow online play with a PC game. Where the Xbox will.

This goes back to the fundamental problem that you think console users with joypads will get pwned - I reckon that's a myth - I've been playing the orange box on my 360 this week and it's pretty damned cool - started playing episode 2 this morning and although it's different to K/B and mouse, it's a very good way to do it...
Besides which, you're argument about the 360 addon for K/B and mouse being an addon for £50 is also cak - the 360 already supports USB keyboards - there's no reason why they couldn't just add USB mouse support too - it is running Windows afterall.
Who would win though? The gamer with his 50" HDTV or the one with the 19" widescreen monitor?
I know where I'd rather be sat to play, and it ain't in my bedroom in front of the PC with headphones on...
i completey agree with you there.. I've been saying this for years. if your good at a game it doesnt matter if ur using k/b & mouse or joypad...

The Mouse+Keyboard vs Controller debate was partially addressed when the XBOX got the SmartJoy FRAG device came on the market.
It doesn't give native mouse aiming but translates the mouse movement into analogue thumbpad movements & each game needs a little fiddling to address the thumbpad deadspot.
The number of accusations of cheating in Halo & Halo2 increased because players weren't used to the movement/accuracy of a mouse/kb user.
Any google on that & you can see forums arguing whether or not it's cheating to use this setup. It's not even native Mouse control.

Reaction times on a gamepad will never be near what they are with a keyboard and mouse. The lack of precision with a pad makes it impossible. If anyone has an old xbox try playing Counter-Strike on it then try and play the same game on the PC. You can't have a fair comparison because consoles ALWAYS have the auto aim feature turned on where PC's allow the user to aim themselves and don't have hit boxes the size of houses.

but apart from games and chatting online, downloading stuff, MySpace, face book the only other thing PC's are good for is finding porn! Other than that there the biggest waste of time i think. i hate them!
all in all PCs are beter than consoles
maybe but Mac's are better that Pc's unless you are classing them as PC's in this?

You see i use to say that before i got a Mac and apart from not really being good for games i would have to say your wrong. i have has a mac book and its only crashed twice since Feb and thats only cos i didnt know how to use it.

I have to disagree too.. Yes they are completely over priced, but they are definitely not a pile of dog ***.
I would still choose a PC over a mac, mostly because of price, and quite alot because I dont want to be associated with the cringey world of apple fanboys in any way, shape or form. But apart from gaming, they do tend to be at least on a par with the PC for pretty much everything else now.
