View Full Version : Motherboard and CPU
I don't know about anyone else but i'm petrified about putting these two things together.
Anyone else lacking in confidence or is it just me?
assembly or choosing them?
Line corner to corner on cpu and board socket, gently drop in. If thermal pad already on heatsink remove plastic seal and gently put on CPU then clip in :)
What CPU?
775 is horrible the first time you do it - but older ones are fine...
Heres a video which will help I am sure :)

I would recommend installing the cpu with the mobo out of the case and on its static bag. Then put the mobo in and install the heatsink.
This video also has uninstallation instructions, so its very useful!
EDIT: oh yeah good point, I assumed it was a 775 processor :P
Just when I last upgraded my board and CPU I chickened out and got my cousin to do it for me.
But I'm looking to upgrade my board since although its good, i'm not getting the full potential out of my graphics card.
lol, im always carefull when i attache the CPU to the motherboard just incase i **** somthing up
With me, its not 'incase' its 'will'
I'm such a clumsy ***
