View Full Version : TV advice
I know it's not exactly a monitor I'm looking for but I guess it's the best place to ask (if not, please move it to the correct place). I'm looking for a new TV for my room. It will be used for gaming and watching films. I would like low input lag (doesn't have to be extremely low, just so it's not that noticable), full HD (1080p) and Freeview.
Budget is £600 and can be 37" to 42".
Any suggestions to which TV's I should look at would be much appreciated.
Have a look at Richer Sounds. Loads of bargains to be had.
Go down to coment/Currys/Tesco etc and find about 5 that you like that has the quality and size you are after, note these down on a piece of paper then serach about for the best prices.
Cant go wrong
You can try panasonic in that price range - you may get a pretty good deal or LG or Samsung. Sony would be too expensive i reckon...
Shop around! That's my only advice.
Managed to get my 40" Sony Bravia (RRP approx £1100 at the time) for £630 online about 3 years ago :D
For that price you could easily get a 37" Samsung series 5 which is a quality bit of kit.
But as it's for a bedroom... unless you've got a massive room, then a 32" would be more than enough so go for something really nice in a 32", LED backlit, 100hz Freeview HD tuner.

Richer sounds is the place to go for customer service and good advice. They used to have a price match but I don't know if its still running.
There's 2 on richer sounds LED. £600 and £639
another nomination for Richer sounds i bought a 32" Toshiba from there in April with 5year warranty and a free mug :D for just over £320
im buying a 47" LG LCD from Richer Sounds on Friday - by far the cheapest place to go (minimum of £100 cheaper than currys/ comet)
Top retailer in my book... their customer service is top notch in my experience.
I would have to say dont forget to consider Toshiba - they make excellent TVs, my 37" is awesome and blows away my mums LG for picture and sound quality, plus they use eco-screens which run cooler and consume less electricity.
