All Http's would be useless so trying a torrent that will take 2 days:cry:
Hurry up! I wanna blow my PC up:mrgreen:

I'm downloading it from the non gamershell linky above and getting my max download speed.
Nvidia beta drivers specially for Crysis. You almost certainly WILL need them.

ok lets all calm down, from reports there are much better games out there

No, no, no, no and no. Anyone who thinks pretty graphics means they should name it GOTY needs there head checking. The game of the year is definitely Portal or if you decide to be picky - Orange box
Well my mate gave me a link to a server that i had a download speed of 1200kbs:mrgreen:
As for the game....
Only played 2 mins of it and my 7800GTX cant keep up very well:mad:
I might try and break my 6800GT with it! ;)
My 8800GTS was struggling! Was only really playable and smooth on Medium settings with 1024x768 resolution.
I have those beta drivers installed, but I reckon theres some enhancements to be done!
This is a beast of a game, my 8800gtx had to be overclocked to get it smooth at 1280x1024, on medium. Must install those beta drivers.
Has anyone installed on vista yet? I've got it dual booted but havent had chance.
odd i did the auto detect thingy on the setup and it put everything to max (very high) i also set 4xAA, and it seemed to play nice and smoothe, no idea what fps i was getting though as FRAPS refused to display, might try again later, can't say i am overly impressed with it though, its basically farcry with prettier gfx.
have you tried UT3 yet ? I don't think my pc will even bother with Crysis ;)
Indeed i have but im not really a fan of the UT games, pity the demo didn't have the team deathmatch or vehicle deathmatch enabled they might have been more fun.
Nice graphics on it though.

yes, UT3 is amazing!
And yes Crysis is basically FarCry with added destroy everything in sight factor

Anyone gonna post how their systems faired?
Mine seems to struggle a bit i seem to be getting between 15-20 fps at 1280x1024 max detail with 4xAA

I was playing it on Vista. It looked very pretty and stuff, I assume it was running in DX10 mode, but as I said earlier, I had to have the settings on Medium for smooth gameplay. Although I havn't tried creeping the settings up.
It was sort of playable on High settings, but the bit at the end with the boat was uber stutterfest!
EDIT: Makes me want to buy a better graphics card :P Or maybe another GTS...
go for it :D but beware of the joys of PSU overloading.
Aria fancy giving me a 8800 ultra?
Tried 1280 x 1024 and it worked ok. Just playable but would need to take that down again to run multiplayer.
All running on low too:cry:
I'm going to try and blow up my 7950Gx2 nothing yet has fully tested it, everygame gives great fps. My 4200 939 x2 and 2gb ram need upgrading I just need an excuse to do it, a game which give me sub 60 fps would do the trick. Lets hope this demo does it ! LOOL

I would say that Crysis will hurt that GPU :D

I'm thinking it may smoke then go off like a 10 shot repeater firework
Ah well if it does at least it gives you a reason to upgrade ;)

bonus!
Im not upgrading just to play 1 game:evil:
I finished the demo last night. It was running ok untill i got to the end and that stupid blue thing jumped out! I think it shot down to 1fps:lol:

Yep, and I think that the ice effects become more and more prolific as the game progresses. So that scene might actually be what the rest of the game is like
so from what you guys have seen exactly what sort of spec is this monster going to need to run it 60+ fps?
SLI?
Q6600?
8gb ram?
64 bit o/s?
You'll need a next-gen GPU with 1GB of memory, which are the daddies when it comes to DX10 processing. Sadly, these aint out yet...
And Crysis can recognise 4 cores and run in 64bit, so having those things would help!
You can run it over 60fps with low settings :) But the very high settings will need next-gen GPU's unless you have a monster processor and 8800Ultra's in Sli. A single 8800Ultra still has issues I think!
I reckon they will bring out a 8850Gx2 ,
x2 8800gt's / gtx's stuck together in one slot with 1gb mem!
Im' getting my 7950gx2 in the bin
"he Geforce 8950 GX2 is a dual-chip card based on a new 80 nanometre G80 chip, probably codenamed something else. Both GX2 GPUs are clocked at 550MHz and the difference is GDDR4. The card comes with 2x512MB of 256-bit GDDR4 memory clocked at 2000MHz. The card has 96 Shaders, per chip"
From all the reports i have seen from the demo it doesn't seem to make much use of quad or even dual core, i ran around in a firefight with my task manager open and it was barely using 35-40% total cpu usage.

Yeah I noticed the same thing, it occasionally dipped into 90% on one core but the CPU was never maxed out. Clearly the focus is on your graphics card and the CPU is just doing physics and stuff.

Not and use dx10, not that it makes THAT much difference
