This beasty is coming in at £182.. in comparison to the other gtx 460's like the Asus and gainward and gigabyte 460 1gbs how does it compare, and in the future i will be getting another gtx 460 (identical model) to sli and will the 1gbs give me a much better performance than 2 x768mbs?

Good question! Thinking along similar lines myself ;)

No idea what the answer is though :D

Well it's got a lifetime warranty for starters!

EDIT: Aria haven't got it listed as lifetime but I'm certain it is.

EDIT 2: It's a 2 year warranty by default but it can be extended to a 10 year free of charge according to eu.evga.com.

Well if you get 2x768mb ones, you wont be able to go further, but if you get this one, you can SLI another one in the future.

thats the options but it is a good 30-40 quid more so 80 quid more with 2 in sli , and am curious if it will be much more of an increase

I don't think it warrants an extra £60 over the Palit 768Mb tbh.

2 x Palit 768Mb = £246

1 x EVGA 1GB = £182

Just not worth it.

Look at some benchmarks, thats what i did and its clear the performance vs cost isn't worth it on the 1GB.

its upto you on the cash front but here is a bench of unigine with my i7 860@3.7ghz, anistrophy (@16x) and antialiasing (@8x) full, tessalation normal, 1920x1080, dx 11 etc:

these easily beat a 5970 but iyou would have to compare them to the 768mb versions in a similar benchmark to see the difference. when i bought mine the 768mb versions were at there higher price and because i plan on having these a while i went with the more powerful ones. at the end of the day it whether you can justify the extra money.:):thumb:

eu.evga.com or evga.com?

USA warranties are different.

That's what you want.

evga is a big brand name and as such they have an amry of fanbois, much like intel, amd, nv, ati, asus, gigabyte so on and they are happy to pay the extra to have their fave sticker in their case.

from what i have seen tho these are 1 of the best performing 460s you can buy out the box, not saying that any other 460 cant perform the same after 20 seconds in afterburner :thumb: but not everybody wants to overclock their stuff too.

winner! thank you :)

EDIT:
so for two of these in sli how much juice would you recommend? would a 650w corsair with 2 x 8pin connectors be enough?

650w should be enough but your not going to leave much wiggle room depending on the rest of your setup.

the warranty alone is good enough for the price + i am evga fanboi..lol

yes these are 2 msi 1gb cyclones at 800/1600/2000 in sli. i run them on the corsair tx650. i have to convert two molex's to six pin pcie though as each 460 takes twp 6 pin pcie. they run ok overclocked and my cpu is oced aswell. you can get roughly the same clocks on most 460's though but i chose the msi ones because you can overvolt them to get even more (not that i've done that yet). the msi hawks look good but they cost for it.:)

thanks man :) your fps seem rather low for 2 460s?

Its the physx that kill it.

ah i see ;) i think i'll have 1 evga for now once i have enough money and then get another if i can be afford it :)

EDIT
Anybody know how much of a performance boost i can expect going from 1 x 1gb EVGA 1gb 460 to 2 x 1gb EVGA 1gb 460's?
