ok, I am just planning my next lot of upgrades.
You can see the spec of my current pc from the signature.

If I play any Ageia Physx enabled games would I benefit from getting the separate card or would I notice no difference as I am running an 8800GTX.

Any help or advice much appreciated

ahhh I'm glad someone asked this cos I was thinking the same, would it make a difference for when I play GRAW2

how many games actually make use of these cards?

1 or 2 games for £100 card seems a bit much :(

I have one and yes it does make a difference, GRAW 2 saw a marked increase in FPS as well as extra "shrapnel" and of course theres the Aegia Island map which is only available to Physx card users.

Aren't there going to be graphics cards with built in physics chips at some point? I thought I read somewhere that ATI were plotting something...

there was talk of multiple gfx card setups with the extra card being used for physics duties and using a core on quad core cpus etc etc but as yet i haven't seen anything of either.

If your fps is good don't worry about it, until something gives you bad fps don't waste the £

The new unreal tournament engine uses physx so i would expect a few more games to start using it in the near future. There is more to it than raw fps you get more detail too. but i wouldn't recommend it unless you have a (near) top end gfx card as upgrading your gfx will be a better bet first.
