howdy all...after excellent advice from you all before, i thought i would ask your advice again
i have an X1950xtx card which idles at 40c..and under load can hit 76c. now im playing ut3 (awesome if you havent tried it download beta demo) now i dont know if this is ok, as i know these cards run hot. is it better to up the fan speed (noisy as f**!)or get a Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 ATi (also is this the right one). if so will there be same noise issue, and is this fan much bigger than stockfan? as i have just upgraded from a X1900gt and its double the size. ive not much room left in my antec 900 (with power supply at bottom) as ive got a physx card and soundcard with very little space between the two.another question, is my jeantech 450W psu up to it, as ive been told it shouldnt be,but have had no probs as yet sorry specs are :
AMD 64 X2 3800+ @2.0GHz (not sure about oc`ing) with AC freezer pro
M2N-SLI DELUXE
Radeon X1950xtx 512Mb
AGEIA PhysX
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme
2gb 4600 ddr2
antec 900

many thanks in advance

76c is fine for a gfx card so i wouldn't worry about the temps too much. Also the accelero is a reasonable cooler though as i understand it it doesn't cool massively better than the stock cooler but it is alot quieter. Size wise it does stick out from the top of the gfx card quite a bit but i am not sure how much wider it is, if at all, than a stock card so i don't know if you will lose / or gain the pci slot next to the gfx card.

When i had my ati x1900xtx i used to run ati tool set to maintain a certain temp to try and keep the noise from the fan as low as possible.

My X850XTPE used to hit 102degrees (yes - celcius!) until I put an arctic cooler on it - then it how 74 under load...

The arctic cooling graphics card coolers are truly excellent - they're alot cooler than the stock units and a hell of a lot colder too - if you're worried about the temperature then I'd suggest you get one.

The pro is miles cooler than the XTX anyway, seeing as it was reworked lower power silicone.

nice one guys, ill push the fan speed up a bit and see if i can live with the noise , as i dont want to risk loosing another pci slot (is there any mobo with more space betweeen pci slots? as id have to loose either my sound card or physx :-[ if i ever sli`d my 1950)

you can't double up ati cards in that mobo, for sli you need nvidia cards, you need a crossfire compatible mobo for multiple ati cards ;)
