As title suggests, What's the recommended PSU wattage for dual GTX 460 in Sli?

I currently have a 600W OCZ stealth Xtreme,

I have had a look around the web but have conflicting reports saying that dual cards draw anything from 240W to 450W under load for the pair.

Also have core i5 760, 4gig OCZ gold 1333Mhz on an MSI P55-GD65,
Only 1 320gig WD HDD fitted atm.

Will the 600W be ok?

hmm, depends on your budget mate, if you can get the 750 xfx that would be ideal

I was checking here -
http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/evga-gtx-460-1gb-superclocked-sli-review/13/

Says 2 overclocked ones will use around 262W under load while gaming.

Im looking for the other site which said its nearer 440w :S

Is the card I currently have, and plan to add another in the next week or so.

Yeah I see that 600W might be cutting it a little close there.

The 440W I saw must have been full system draw.
Might have to sell on my current PSU, why I didnt go for a 700w I dunno....Doh! lol

I have a Xigmatek 700W (2 x 30A Rail) and am doubtful it'll run another GTX460, as Guru3D reckons 154W Max load on a GTX460.

So thats 308W, where as my 30A rail can take upto 325W on it.

I am hoping to get a 850W PSU.

Thanks mate, I am looking at getting me a 460 soon and didn't want to change my xfx 650w in order to get another in the future. :thumb:

Maximum graphics card power is 160W and they recommend 450W for a single card. A solid 600W PSU will be fine for two cards, it's unlikely you'll be hitting 600W even with 320W from just the GPUs, would still need 280W from other things to push it over the edge. Unlikely IMO.

true, 650w should be fine, if you can a get a 750 its better as it will run cooler and quieter as your not close to its advertised output . it also offers better future upgrade ability

Dual 1GB GTX460s require 320W

Your OCZ 600W PSU can only provide 300W on the 12v rail (that the GPUs use) :)

Dunno how much help it is to you, but the Gladiator PC uses two OC'd 460's in SLI and that has a Corsair HX Series 650W PSU.

Obviously if they're designing the system alot of burn testing has been done, so take that for what you will. Plus you can't tri-SLI 460's so I can't see you ever needing to upgrade the PSU.
