IM going to purchase the Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX 768Mb PCI-E OEM (https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Nvidia+GeForce+8800GTX+768Mb+PCI-E+OEM+?productId=27431)as i understand it oem means no cables ,games etc just the card what do i need to power this card do i need anything other than my power supply unit psu is a enermax noise taker 600 watt.
Yea basiclly all you get if the card.
I have a 8800GTX and from what i can see you dont really need anything extra. Will work fine with the PSU.
Just make sure you have a good PSU and not a crap one.
You would need the power cable for it!
It has a funny 6 pin plug.
Need a cable like this i think unless your PSU has that kind of plug already?

If your psu is sli compatible, ie has 2x 6 pin pcie power connectors you will be fine as that is all you "need"
Ah yes. You need 2 sorry. Im running a 7800 so only have the 1:sad:
Enermax = Great PSUs. If it has 2x 6-pin or an adaptor then you're good to go. The voltage on the 12v rail should be enough, though I don't know the spec of that PSU.

Having second thoughts on the gtx card do i go with ,Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R Socket 775 Motherboard (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+%28Intel%29/Gigabyte+GA-P35C-DS3R+Socket+775+Motherboard+?productId=27303),Patr iot 2GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance (2x1GB) (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/DDR2/DDR2+800+%28PC6400%29/Patriot+2GB+PC2-6400+C4+Extreme+Performance+%282x1GB%29+?productId =26802),,Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz (775 (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/CPUs+%2F+Processors/Intel/Core+2+Duo/Intel+Core+2+Duo+E6750+2.66GHz+%28775%29+?productI d=27972),Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX 768Mb PCI-E OEM (https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Nvidia+GeForce+8800GTX+768Mb+PCI-E+OEM+?productId=27431),
or
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz * 95W G0 Stepping* (775) (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/CPUs+%2F+Processors/Intel/Core+2+Duo/Intel+Core+2+Quad+Q6600+2.4GHz+%2A+95W+G0+Stepping %2A+%28775%29+?productId=28356),Abit IP-35 Pro, iP35 Express Motherboard (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+%28Intel%29/Abit+IP-35+Pro%2C+iP35+Express+Motherboard+?productId=2725 5),Patriot 2GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance (2x1GB) (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/DDR2/DDR2+800+%28PC6400%29/Patriot+2GB+PC2-6400+C4+Extreme+Performance+%282x1GB%29+?productId =26802),Asus GeForce 8800GTS 320MB PCI-E (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/PCI-E/nVIDIA+GeForce+8+Series/+Asus+GeForce+8800GTS+320MB+PCI-E?productId=26540)
what do you think folks do i go with the higher model graphics card but go for a lower cpu and mobo or go with a lower model 8800 card and going for the more pricey cpu and mobo .Having trouble deciding i play online games basicly not sure what will give me the best performance for my current budget more or less comes to £530 for each bundle ive selected.
But id say Option 2 because it has a better Motherboard and CPU.
Go with the Quad-core. You can clock that up to 3.0GHz or so to screw the people who will inevitably suggest that the Dual-core will be better for gaming, single-threaded applications etc.
Personally I'd wait until the new year - loads of new exciting products arriving:
AMD Phenom/Opteron quad, dual and tri-cores (the latter probably a little later into 2008 )
GeForce 8800GT (This is the G92 chip, was going to be named GeForce 8900, instead named 8800 to ride the wave of popularity and success the 8800 Series has garnered, I suspect)
Radeon HD 3000 Series (RV670 - looks stunning)
personally i would steer clear of the abit motherboard, thats just me though.
Why not get the better gigabyte board still cheaper than your abit choice?

I have to agree with you as iv seen some bad reviews about them.
Asus for the win:mrgreen:

Yep !
Ugh, ASUS. I'd take Abit any day of the week. ASUS are just so... Pretentious. They'd make a fine Apple subsidary.
If you dont have two six pin connectors I believe you can get a four pin to six pin adaptor.
So long as you have enough power on the rail.
