Can I put in a suggestion, I notice there is a "Windows Related" forum and I think a "Linux & Open Source" forum would be a great addition to the forum.

It would provide a place to chat about all things Open Source like GNU/Linux and Ubuntu/Debian/Gentoo/Fedora distributions, and could also be used to discuss Windows-based Open Source packages such as Firefox and Open Office.

and LFS / HLFS (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/) for the masochists amongst us.

I'm having a nightmare gettiong Xorg 7.3 to work with HLFS SVN20071007

I can complie it, but it falls over with unresolved symbols, something to do with dlopen. really annoying as readelf on my libglx.so shows me the symbol it can't find  btw it is libglx that fails :S

Time to brush up on gcc complier flags I think

Yeah this is a good idea.

What about other software thats free...but not open source....For the end user its still the same really...Perhaps that should be included with the open source as well ?

what, freeware? we can't really offer support for that here the point of the open source, was to include some discussion on linux. perhaps it should be renamed.
