View Full Version : Oh dear its monday
Oh dear its monday again. did we all have a nice weekend?
No.
I was ill last night and missed 4 hours sleep.
Now in work. Feel like ****. Tired and sick.
Life sucks
Pretty good for me!
Was playing with my new computer, overclocking and stuffs!
Bioshock on 1680x1050 is sweet! As is Quake Wars :D and Eve-Online
ooo new computer, whats the spec?
Got ransacked on wine
My sig. But here it is in full:
Antec 900 Gamer Case - Noisy beast with the fans on max, but it looks cool and IS cool!
Xilence 700w Gaming Edition PSU
Asus P5N32-E SLi - I love this mobo :D Made overclocking a doddle, passive cooled northbridge seems hot though :S
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 - been creeping the overclock on this up steadily, approaching 2.8 Ghz, aiming for 3.2
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO - does a good job and was easy to fit, also using Arctic Silver 5.
Patriot 2GB PC2-6400 - Cheap, fast, meh.
Asus GeForce 8800GTS 320MB PCI-E - Overclocked core to 550Mhz before I got artifacts, forget what I got the ram to.
160GB Maxtor Diamondmax SATA2 2MB x2
NEC ND-5170A-0B 18x DVDRW DL Black
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 OEM - I had to have DX10 shineyness, otherwise I would have got XP.
Not a good weekend for me :(
Just been reading about that Hard Drive problem. Sucks :(
[quote:60002e2263=\"alexnifty\"]Just been reading about that Hard Drive problem. Sucks :([/quote:60002e2263]
Yep, :(
sure does, but ive added my two pence worth. nice spec btw on the puter alexnifty. ive added 3 fans to my gigabyte 3d aurora on the side and mine is noisy too.
I'm loving my new system at the moment. Apart from when I watch a DVD, then I have to open the case and turn all the fans down to a low setting.
I'm going to see if I can use a fan controller, but I'm not sure if it will work with the Antec stock fans because they all have a 3 stage switch to control speed. Might have to do some 'rewiring'.
If I save a few pennies and find some space in my room then I might get a \"Zalman RESERATOR1-PLUS Fanless Water Cooling System\" but Aria don't have these :(
ooo not a big fan of water cooling, i just dont like the idea of liquids and electrics as ive seen the damage a leaking one did to a motherboard and a graphics card. How abouts one of those nice refigerated cpu coolers, the phase change ones?

Im not spending £500!! Im not THAT serious an overcloking nut. Watercooling would be my limit.
Although I would like something like the Commadore Pc's have, im not 100% sure what it is but is essentially tips refrigerated air into the case.

Get yourself one of these

I got one in mine they are supurb. If you have a 3 stage fan with a button switch thingy just set in on number 3 full speed and the Vantec can lower it down with the dial (works by lowering the voltage) looks great and fan adjustment on the fly :)
Heres mine (took the beige floppy out now by the way!)

I take it you didn't read the google report that cols hard disks fail faster than hot ones?!
Lemme try and dig out the link...
Antec 900 has 2 front 120mm fans for the HD's.
I think you just like to keep the makers of Silent Eagles in business :D
he's keeping them in business by sticking all there range in his case

According to google:
< 30c = bad
35c looks like a sweetspot. And watch out if your drive is 3yrs old, that would seem to be the age of most fatalities. Except in te case of 3month old drives under high use.
Tried loads of fans and they were all too noisy, at full pelt they are whisper quiet but shift 76,4CFM of air
Also the reviews speak for themselves - they really are GREAT

Do they do 200mm and 120mm blue fans?
They do a fair bit
http://www.sharkoon.com/all_eng.htm
click on fans!
the UV reactive LED ones are sweet

Nice,
But my problem is this (http://www.antec.com/us/support_productInfo_details.php?ProdID=75200). Its the only fan without LED's :P I need a 200mm Blue LED fan that is compatable with this!
But I did just see CCFL FAN's :o
I suspect Coiler works for sharkoon...
mmmm

You mean it doesn't have a normal fan mount?

No idea!
Where can you 200mm fans anyway?
omg 200mm fans, i must have some :)
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=75200
If only the Antec 900 came with a blue LED 200mm instead of this one. I just dont think you can get them though. Maybe I can 'mod' something...
if only my toilet was gold and encrusted with precious jewels ;)
I found a 250 x 30mm blue LED fan by thermaltake. Too big though :(
