Upgrading O/S?

I currently have XP installed on my pc, will a vista upgrade work if my XP version is not legit? I'd like to go legal, but don't really want to have to shell out so much.

If you have a proper Vista Cd Key then yes it would work fine.

tbh i never ever endorse upgrading an os over another os anyway. its better to do a clean install from scratch. why dont you look at buying an oem copy which can be clean installed?

i 100% agree with you.

ah, 100% agreement, such a rare commodity for me :) but yep never install over an o/s (upgrade). clean installs ensure you dont inherit any rubbish from the old o/s.
