View Full Version : Stupid question..
ok I know the old tvs had tuners so basically you could change channels. But with set top boxes more common, is it possible to use a monitor bought from here with a freeview/sky/virginmedia set top box? After all the tuner is on the set top boxes. As regards the connections, I would presume a monitor with a HDMI socket.
if the screen has more than one input then i don't see why you can't do it.
if its solely used for tv then again i don't see why not, only sound may be a problem?
it might be a tad off as a monitor isn't made for tv but it should work i would say unless its like 1080i and the screen only takes 1080p
Yes if you have a monitor with a connection that your freeview box also has, and your monitor can do sound there is no reason why you cannot do this.

My monitor has a built in Freeview tuner ;)
but If your monitor has an HDMI it should be easy to get an HDMI freeview or an HDMI Freesat box connected.
