It's just a daughter card for the RIIIE with onboard Lucid Hydra chip.
They've just done 4 :D

oh my think of the 3dmark score
Mr. Strawberry
01-09-10, 14:25
wonder if it is compatible with other boards?
seeing as it has the Nf200 chip you could get a really cheap board plug that in and have a 4 way sli/crossfire board
or in theroy most likely cant

Random combination of cards there! Would that actually work, I wonder.
Hmm, isn't there some "super" computer which uses loads of Nvidia cards in SLI to crunch big numbers? They had to pay to have it specially made, now it seems anyone one can with a few quid.

some one should get 2 cards
have one at the top and 1 at the bottom and then phone asus asking for a specialy made SLI/crossfire bridge for it :D
hey asus can i have 30ft sli connector? asus what?

dont worry he doesnt have my address
no wait he does
nice knowing you to :D
yea, as said it uses the hydra chip that can use any combo of gpu to make a real multi card setup.
i read about them releasing another chip the other day and i think they are rebranding too but im not 100% tbh.
edit
Today LucidLogix Technologies (Lucid) announced its arming video card manufacturers with the new Unity graphics board architecture for the HYDRALOGIX engine (previously known as HYDRA). Now graphics board vendors for the first time can combine a single HYDRALOGIX 200 real time distributed processor with any single NVIDIA or ATI GPU, creating an affordable, flexible multi-GPU-ready graphics card that can make any motherboard a high performance gaming system.

Throw some waterblocks on those cards and you have the geeks equivalent of a hot water boiler.....
.....that must take near 3KW on full load....

2kw psu here i come ;D
while we're on the topic of folding, how many PPD do you reckon I could get with a 9800 gx2?
lol when i saw that i said WTF. wonder what the 3dmark vantage score would be for that. :D
while we're on the topic of folding, how many PPD do you reckon I could get with a 9800 gx2?
top of head estimate, just over 4k ppd.
DT.
how much is that in relation to other cards (say an 8800gt or a gtx260)
gtx260 I had was matching that roughly, the 460 I have now doubles that (8.1K ppd) :)
DT.
My 480 does 14k PPD :D, but I don't fold, too much energy especially with the 480 :P.
My 480 could do 14k PPD
fixed :)
i think its time we had a white splodge emotic on here.
anyway i though the add on board needed 2 pcie x16 slots? and seriously there are some bad bandwidth problems there.
lets do some maths. there are 13 cards.
first 3 get x8.
next 3 get x8/4 = x2
next 3 get x2/4 = x0.5
last 4 get x0.5/4 = x0.125
now i think even for folding there are some bottle necks there.

no the add on cards have their own onboard chip or something. bandwidth is limited by the lanes of the NB/SB??
whatever.. the add on boards add more lanes afaik
Mr. Strawberry
02-09-10, 00:43
the add on boards have there own Nf200 chip giving the cards the lanes needed

Think of the power consumption!!!
THINK OF THE CHILDREN! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
Haha think of the case you would need for that :D
but they all end up going into the 2 initial lanes

i could do this, i just need to get my hands on some of those daughterboards,
oh and a nuclear power plant to power it.
