Evening!

So what do you lot drive then?

I drive a 54 VW Lupo open air. Like a huge electric sunroof but its the whole roof. Its only a 1.0 but its a great first car.
Ive had it a year now and looking to upgrade to somthing bigger.

What about you? :D

1996 Subaru Impreza GL - 1.6 NA
5 door (so it looks like an estate)
4WD, (even has the lo-range gearbox)
Metallic silver with 16\" Subaru alloys
No sun roof, no aircon but 4 electric windows :P

It sound great (it's still a four cylider boxer engine) but it's only got 88BHP (on a good day)

Not that fast but brilliant to drive and practical too!

(Fuel economy is below average though)

I'm not joking, he really does have a chrysler c300 with all the extras, cost him a think £40.000. But had wait like 4 months to get the car because of the waiting list.

Im not joking either...That really is my dads porsche!

He has a few cars and this is one me and him used as a project.
Im VW mad so we bought a MK3 Golf cabriolet 2.0
It was great as it was but we felt there was room for improvement.
We did all the body work you see here first.
http://i15.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/83/75/ac29_3.JPG

But then decided it needed to go faster.
So we stuck a 2.9 V6 24V racing engine in.
By god does it go now!

The 300C is shat - it's the Lola Ferrari of the car world - appalling mess underneath with enough plastic smeared on to make it tolerable to look at.

The only redeeming feature is the fact you can get it with the SRT8 engine...

They're just far too American for my tastes - excessively soft suspension, steering that doesn't feel attached and brakes that don't... As long as motorways are the only roads it's driven on, I'm sure it's OK, but for a blat down a country lane? I'd rather walk.

I learnt to drive in a brand spanking new 1.3 Diesel corsa - comfortable car to drive - plenty of leg room and head room with a nice deep pedal box - even for a fat 6 footer it's a sound little car... Suspension's a bit hard and lumpy, but what can you expect from a little hatchback?!

bouncyb
25-09-07, 16:48
it sure is the hardest supsension ive come across, and its awful at cornering at speed, lots of understeer!!!

alexnifty

I started learning to drive in a petrol Corsa, and then my instructor switched to a more modern diesel version.
I couldn't tell much difference between the cars, except that there was a little less acceleration at the top end in the diesel.

You can definetaly feel the road in those Corsa's though!

I used to drive a Freelander, I forget which variant exactly but it was a diesel, and in complete contrast to the Corsa, you cannot feel anything! Broke down all the time, and spent most of the time being fixed by the dealer. Shame, because its nice to drive tanks :D

Nowadays, living in Cambridge, I have one of these:

 Saved myself a small fortune cycling everywhere. Works as a chick magnet occasionally too :P

The GT-R is epic - if the way it drives in PGR3 is anything to go by (which it's not) then it's superb - but the enine noise is breathtaking.

I saw Ascari racing in British GT at Oulton Park and fell in love with them there and then;

http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive/2005/12/09-ascari-a10/Ascari%20A10-lg.jpg

They're not yellow on the track and the sound it makes is immense!

so what your saying is that a cyclist that wears lycra is actually more or less wearing a power ranger outfit. i mean cyclists wear helmets, albiet not as cool as the power rangers.
