Talentless singers

So, ive moved desks for around a week and im sat underneath a mounted TV in the office now and its playing random music from the likes of Kiss, MTV & The Box (amongst others) and not only does each channel rotate between the same 20 songs or so but ive noticed ALOT of singers now use the auto-tuner.

I'm kind of old school for the fact i respect and appreciate talent, however i dont consider wailing into a microphone only for the producer to auto-tune it at a later date to make it sound like someone can sing when in reality they cant even hold a note!

Does this get on anyone elses nerves?

Hardly any mainstream pop artists these days can sing. Image is everything unfortunately.

She's one of the one's that can actually sing though. She has an amazing voice.

it makes me feel really old that im falling out of touch with music already - but i cant tolerate people becoming famous for a digital voice! they would sound god awful live! (YT lady gaga live and you'll see what i mean)

never this bad though - i could used to tolerate it, but its getting worse for the fact the only talent used is by the producer in the studio trying to make the artist sound half decent.

the people who sing pop and genuinly have talent (the likes of leona lewis) i can listen to and quite happyily sing along to it if the moment is right, but the fake voice of most of todays singers really winds me up

now alot of rock singers have bad singing voices and arent afriad to 'try' - i draw the line at guns n roses though - thats makes my ears bleed a bit too much

This why the only music I listen to is mp3 or internet streams from someone NOT pwned by the big record labels.

Bruce ****inson from Iron Maiden is a trained classical singer as are Sirenia!

It is a pity that people like bubble-gum music these days, the type of warbling that has no power and soul!
