Can anyone give me any advice on this spec? I don't know a great deal about hardware, but I basically want a decent gaming rig for £500. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Good spec, although i'd look into getting a more powerful PSU. Stick with the reputable brands of PSU too.

I don't have Vista yet, I'm unsure whether to get it or not at the moment.

As for the PSU, my original choice was a more powerful one, but I chose the 450W one to cut down on the cost. Do you think it'll make much of a difference to spend £20 extra and get the 520W one? Or could you recommend a different one that is good quality/cheap?

Thanks for the replies :)

Actually those Corsair PSUs are damn fine. But yeah, you might want to go for the next one up... I think it's 670 or 680 watt. Some obscure number.

I've only been able to find positive reviews on the corsairs, why do you think they'll be so terrible?
I agree I probably should go with 500w+ though to be safe.

Yeah, I think corsair PSUs are good.. I just think that to be on the safe side, 450w may not cut it!

imo i'd go with at least a 800W PSU then at least later on if you decide to upgrade say the graphics card, you know your not going to have to buy another PSU too! :P

but isnt the rule of thumb not to use your PSU at more than 80% load for ling periods of time?

So 450w really doesnt give alot of room for upgrading. I would have probably gone for a 650 at least, and a 750 if I could afford it.

Any reason you went with one of our competitors and not Aria? :(

My work-mate got to know I Build the odd P.C. no and then,so he wants my advice on up-grading his son,s HP Pavilion 7934 PC so he can play war craft type games on it?
The specs of the Pavilion are:- cpu P4 1.5 ghz,
256 2X 128 pc133 ram,
Geforce 2 100/200Gpu,
not a clue what the Agp slot bus speed is but here my suggestion,
Geforce 7600GT agp,

and an Xilence 420W gaming Psu.
I'd be greatful for any comments.
