Okay so i didn't realise i will have spare monies payday tomorrow so i want to get a graphics card.

I will not be going ATi due to their OpenGL support being cack.

Yep that is a great card to get mate, do you have a sli or crossfire board?

GTX 460 is roughly equivalent too a GTX 285, so it will be like twice the performance of your current 4850, and with DX11 support to boot.
Sounds like it's an ideal card for me then :D
Also my board isn't crossfire or sli but that doesn't bother me.

There support for older OpenGL is fine but they break on a lot of the newer stuff -> case and point http://www.springrts.com textures for units are all grey and messed up for one -> can't play on an ati card with even close to recent drivers.
