Right, because my card gets hot during games, i use rivatuner.
THe problem is... i set it at 100 % during games, but sometimes it decides to go back to default on its own.. which means the temps go over 100 oC .
How can i fix this?
:(
does it go back to default after you restart your computer? it would do this if it wasnt running on start up.
Personally i would recommend MSI afterburner much simpler and more user friendly interface
As Finners said try MSI After burner. i find it works better
he's using a nvidia 9800gt its in his profile

Hi, what graphics card do you have? i.e. ATi.... Nvidia....
As Finners said try MSI After burner, if you have a ATI card then the fan speed can be adjusted in catalyst control center- ATI overdrive.
Hi sorry I forgot to say, it's a PNY 9800gt 512mb.
I have tried rivatuner and msi afterburner and they seem to reset themselves after a short while. I don't know why.
I have heard of another program called evga precision, is that any good?

hmm, what you can do is go into nvidia control panel-performance then click on gpu, there should be a manual fan speed option there.
If you don't have the performance option in the nvidia control panel (on the left) you will need to install Nvidia System tools:

Okay mate.
Do you know if 85 - 90 oC under load is a bad temp? dangerous for the card?

According to Nvidia "Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 105 C"
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9800gt_us.html
so 85-90 should be ok but it is a little on the high side.

Mmmm yeah.
The card is a year old now so maybe I need to re-apply some thermal paste. I'll order some arctic silver 5 and replace it and see what temps I get.

Thanks for that link mate, i might do that.
EVG precision is similar to MSI afterburner, but now I use MSI ab as it has been refined since it was released and does pretty much everything that i need.
