Finally a Bee on one of my chillies. Tried the flash on this one, not sure if this was a good idea or not :|, hence the reflection off the chilli. Again not sure about this because of the plain background.

Brilliant as usual! You can really see the wing structure very clearly. Fascinating.
Cheers Snakey, quite enjoying messing around with this macro malarky :D.
the shiny bronze back armour and large red eye are kindy freaky.
V nice macros!
OT :D
Mac, you grow chillies? What varieties?
Currently growing here in sunny Leics:-
Generic Red Chilli (mild, tasty)
Generic Red Chilli crossed with sweet pepper (very mild, sweet)
Pablano (Sweet, fruity, 2k)
Aurora (hot, fruity, approx 30-50k)
Funky (hot, approx 30-50k)
Peri Peri (hot, firey, good kick, approx 150k)
Habanero (caustic, seriously hot, 300k)
Next year we're expanding the range :D
Apologies for the OT :o
Cheers Coiler, a bit more to your taste i assume ;)
Spaceboy a fellow chilli head :D now you are talking my language.
Well i have a few on the go.
The bee was on a Cherry Bomb, about 2 steps up from a sweet pepper, v mild 3-4k.
Also growing a few "unknowns" *cough* imported by mum and dad from a holiday to mexico *cough* i suspect one is an anahiem chilli very large (wrist to finger tips) very mild again around 3k.
Another i am not sure about, smallish, yellow, possibly habanaro going from pics?? if it is then around 100k+.
Also growing a "super chilli" not particularly hot but prolific fuit bearer around 40k, never grown these before.
Another is the Prairie fire, i like these a bit of a kick and lots of fruit about 70k.
Rocotta another new one this year again 100k+
Also growing a plant that produces tiny chillies, not much thicker than a ****tail stick, maybe 20mm long but man they have a kick to them
Onto the proper hot ones ;)
Caribbean red habinaro 250k+
Scotch bonnet (every one knows these) 100-300k
Oh and my fav, Dorset naga 1000000 on the scoville scale :D (got 5 of these plants)
I think thats all of them lol.
Nice pics. What gear did you use to take these?

Brilliant, those straight from the camera or did you do any editing?
Cheers :thumb:
Other than a bit of cropping and maybe a slight sharpen in Gimp, nothing done, not messed with colours / contrast etc.
