I'm after a pair of network economisers, I was certain that I've had them from Aria before, but can't for the life of me find them on the site. Anyone aware if Aria stock them?

I can tell you where to get them for £0.65 inc VAT.

Thank you Michael. As I mentioned in my message to you, there was something odd about those ones, as it states that you can only use one port at a time and that you have to power off one network device to use another. That's certainly not the way a proper network economiser works. Probably why they are so cheap. Thanks anyway.

I'm sure I have some of those things somewhere!

They only work for max 100Mb connections as it uses 2 pairs for each device requiring 2 of those splitter, 1 at each end. (They are passive units)

If I come across them and you haven't found any, you can have them.

I took a quick look and they were not where I thought they were last. Probably in a odds-n-sods box in the loft.

Thanks very much Hax, yes, they are just as you describe, up to 100mbs, allowing 2 devices to each use 4 wires. If you should come across them, your offer would be most appreciated.

I always use a cheapo switch - Aria sell 5-port 10/100 switches for around a fiver.

TP-Link 10/100 5 Port Destop Switch - Aria Technology (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Network+Products/Wired/Hubs+%2F+Switches+%2F+Routers/TP-Link+10%2F100+5+Port+Destop+Switch?productId=41046 )

(The typo is Aria's, not mine.)

Ugly as sin, but you can't get much cheaper than that.

The only obstacle I can think of is that it probably needs power.

The economisers are in place of placing another cable into a wall, to enable two network devices in one remote area to both connect to a router.
Never thought of using a switch in the remote location. And I certainly never thought they could be found so cheap.
