well when i recieved the router

(from a compertition) my dad (a Bt Engeneer) seems to think that its a wireless switch connection from one cable router to this via a ethernet cable.

nope, you dont need another router, your netgear router plugs into your cable modem then you can connect to the router either through wireless(with a dongle) or through an ethernet cable.

who is your internet provider?

lol ok

i'll start again

the router i won here at aria, doesnt have a Line in Connetcion, just 1 ethernet port and 4 lan ports as well as the power supply.

looking at the diagrams on the box you need a modem/router connected to the internet, then an ethernet cable from that to the rangemax.

i cant use the BT home hub as the wireless signal will interfear with the Hub, but we have 2 internet line in our house.

so i'll be using the other one.

this is a cable router for virginmedia/ntl broadband

on cable broadband you can only use the modem supplied by the cable company in the uk this is Virgin so you plug the router into that via the ethernet and plug all the computers into the lans

if you don't have cable broadband its useless to you

If it's for virgin media I have one of the new 50meg routers - I ended up paying for it after moving house and thinking I had lost it - it turned up in a box somewhere, so I legally own it now. Open to offers if you want it ;)
