i've watched Films in 3D at the cinema, and they look really good.
But is a 3d monitor worth £300 + 100 for the glasses?
or is the money better spent on buying another graphics card?

should i pick one up when i visit aria later today?

Complete and utter waste of money, unless you have money to burn, just my opinion ;).

its one of those things i would love to tell people i have, but would probably never use. (i will probably get a third GPU then :thumb:)

BTW Have you seen that stereoscopic surround screen racing chair that aria have on the shop floor ATM, it looks awesome, but the game won't start :chairfall:

£375 for asus led 3d monitor with nvidia glasses etc. and I think it's well worth it! Depends if you game and play the games that work with 3d.

It is MUCH better then it is the the cinema!

Edit: Also you'll need either a 480 or a couple of 460's.

I would love to try it out. Shame there are no proper computer specialist shops with it set up to demo.

It's awesome, just been playing some BF:BC2, and you just can't explain it, especially when looking down the sniper scope, it's incredible!

Gimmick for sure. It might become more popular in the future but for now its a waste of cash.

anybody remember the wicked3D Black widow, that was good and I spent many an hour in 3D reality. This stuff today is at the beginning of it's development for home use and I don't think it's good enough yet, we need the OLED panels with the superfast refresh rates and increased colours and contasts for it to be be even considered yet, way over priced and short in the technical specs to be worth the money yet.

Not that impressed with 3D films on the cinema, e.g. avatar 3D

But I had a demo of a Samsung 3D TV in currys, and it was really amazing,
cost about £1200 though!

If the monitors and 3D gaming is as good as that then I should be buying one soon...

I think it depends on where you're sitting too. Some films were absolute rubbish in 3D and only to rob people such as clashj of the titans. I found avatar had good use of 3D and I find cartons make the best 3D films.

I remember watching imax 3D donkey years ago, it had amazing realistic 3D effects.

Is there no way you could see one working in a shop before spending the money?

Aria have/had a three screen 3D setup running in their shop you can try out.

Not sure if it's still there.

Samsung do a 42" LCD 3D TV for about 950, that's not awful.

If I had the cash I'd get one, but I don't mind waiting which in the mean time the technology and price should have got better. :D
