When you installed the new RAM into the pc did you remove any cables?

Sounds to me like you have maybe knocked the IDE cable so it's loose or you've changed the slot that the IDE cable was into.

Take the IDE cable out and the power cable out of the Cd Driver, follow the the IDE cable to the motherboard and make sure it is pushed in all the way. Plug the IDE cable back into the Cd Drive and then plug the power back in. Then turn on your pc.

If it still does not work restart and keep pressing DEL key or F11 or F12 and it will bring you up into BIOS. See if BIOS has found the CD Drive or not. If not then you have done somthing to your CD Drive and might want to buy a new one. (but do the first thing i told you first) If BIOS has found the Cd Drive then insert the Windows CD into it and load that up and when the menu comes press R to repair Windows and then it SHOULD be sorted and back to normal.

Thanks
