got my As results, AAAAB overall, pretty please but In my summer exams I messed up a bit with AAAABBB meaning I only just got an A in chemistry which is what I want to do at uni :/

I had the results to go to uni when i left college, however as i lived with my parents at the time and the household income was more than the limit - they would have had to pay-as-i-go rather than go now pay later, so i couldnt go :(

that really is a failing of the system and exactly why a tory government is a 100% bad thing for our country. They value supremecy through wealth and offering opportunities to only the rich. One of the Tory's main goals is to achieve inequality with them left at the top at the expense of the rest of us. It saddens me to see people fall for their lies and deception

Whereas Labour were wholly honest and truthful throughout their tenancy, and undoubtedly were in power when Bigian went through the system?? Besides, the coalition still hasn't had a chance to implement many of their education policies, it's too early to slate them.

On another note, good luck to everyone getting results today, I hope it goes well for you. If everything doesn't pan out, it's not the end of the world... a driven and focussed attitude will get you where you want to be eventually. I have an exam in just over half an hour so think yourselves lucky!! ;)

While I'm not saying it was right for Big not to gain funding, his brief background suggests that its the exact type what a traditional Tory government would thrive over: Top grades, parents (seemingly) eligible to pay for tuition - not the other way round IMO.

All politicians are lying scum, it's just varying degrees of scum :P (why was everyone surprised about labour and the expenses scandal (always labour politicians in the news) when the Torys were doing it but even worse.... It's because we expect that sort of thieving from the torys. Just some food for thought)

Good luck for your exam later! I need to book my driving test sometime, have been far too ill/busy recently though :/

Conveniently, it seems no one can log-in on our college website because the accounts have been purged ready for the new term -_-

I know that feeling, I get about £2300 student loan and that only just covers the cost of traveling with uni and books, so I had to move back home just so I didnt have to pay rent on top of that.
But good luck to everyone getting them today :)

Now there was a walk in the park if I ever I saw one. They were easy when I did mine, god knows why we have 2 hours to do a paper that could be done in 30 mins tops. :P
Saying that, at every level you reach you always want to do the one below again, as they seem so much easier.

:( Sister got A,B,D. D in the subject where the teacher was dreadful and ended up getting fired, though by then it was too late. Parents talking with school at the moment as she needs a C, school a few months ago said they will act if this situation came up and will speak to Brighton uni.

EDIT: Weird. She just rang up and asked for UCAS number. Checked the site and it says she got in. Don't understand how that works but w/e :p

A proper degree – no way a Mickey Mouse course – and a good university for the subject.

It used to have one of the best restaurants on any campus in the country. It is the one where the students on the hospitality etc courses do their training.

If it is still there, one to get the parents to take you when they visit.

Well done mate!

Same every year, the capacity has never been increased enough to cope with the three days a year the site is hammered :( Poor IT strategy if you ask me

Congratulations to everybody with your grades, hoping you can all continue where you want to :thumb:

You would think, that with the volume of people trying to log on to see if they got in, that UCAS would put something in place to combat this. Its not like they don't see it coming...

I work with a financial institution that gives a "bonus" to all account members once a year, essentially putting the servers under 3000% more load on the day it is given. A couple more machines fired up into the cluster for a few days, then turned back off again when not needed. It's that simple <sighs>

Failed???? How does that mean you failed.
I got ABD when I did mine back in 2008???? and they still let me in despite having 100 less ucas points than i needed, due to me having the A in geology (which is what im doing)

I was 4 marks off an A* in biology

Then I got 76% (80% for the A) in chemistry - B

74% in geography (80% for the A) - B

My offer was AAB and I only got one offer

Yeh it was, I've done so much to just get the offer and now just to be told me is killing me.

The majority of applications for veterinary science (66%) don't get an offer - I did well to even get one.

Chin up mate. No where else where you can get on the course via clearing - or maybe do straight up biology with a view to move into veterinary.

Heard it on the news this morning about too many applicants, hope everyone gets sorted out.

I know a lot of Uni's reserve a lot of spaces now for foreign students as they are self funding and I think work out to be more valuable, all Uni's are businesses nowadays

have you heard for definate from Bristol yet Will? I didn't make my grades, it was a while ago though when uni's were uni's and not businesses. They let me anyway, and that turned out to be a bad choice - I didn't complete :) Would I change anything though, nope. Fingers crossed for you.

Yeah don't worry Will - if you haven't already called up, give them a bell and you'll probably have a telephone interview. I needed ABB to get into York to do Physics with Business Management (needed A in Phys and B in Maths/History) and came out with BBC (C in Maths lol), but still managed to get in after a phone call. Good luck :thumb:
