View Full Version : Creepy crawlies in pc screens.
A mate just phoned me saying his wife had 3 thunderbugs running around her laptop screen, I thought he was joking but he swears it's true.
So I checked on youtube and sure enough it happens as I have never heard of it before. Anyone else has or had this problem?.

Yeah it can happen. Little buggers corpses are worse than dead pixels.

lol don't kill it while its in the screen lol
under warranty send it back as a buggy screen
Wait, its in the screen? Haha.
I've heard about it but it's never happened to me. I like one of the youtube comments:
try changing your curser into a knife or something sharp, then kill the bug
lol
hahah !!
how would you actually get rid of those once they are in?
thunderbugs
what in god's name is one of those?

I'm guessing you just have to let them die and fall to the bottom of the screen and hope they go out of sight.
yep, got one about a couple months ago, seems to of died :D although some how one has gotten into the tv screen as well so not sure how to sort it out :(

Minute little black bugs that come out in the summer, thats what we call them in York lol.
Edit sb89 beat me to it.
Hateful little critters - thankfully nothing more than a mild annoyance to me, so far at least...:ninja:
are they the ones that ALWAYS fly towards your monitor and jump around on the screen till "mr finger" says "hi"
Lol same thing happens to me, probably cuz it's next to a open window all the time, it is rather annoying when they stop moving and sit in the center.

ive seen this happen before and it freaked me right out!!
my instant reaction was to smash the screen.. that didnt fare too well.
I only saw this the other day and thought it was funny.
My brother called me into his room last week and he has one stuck in his LCD!
Funny untill i remembered its my LCD and he is borrowing it!
So how do u actually get them out :s
Maybe try some compressed air?
Aria do a good one: https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Fans%2C+Heatsinks%2C+Coolers/Accessories/Nexus+Professional+Grade+Air+Duster+?productId=361 94
It's the most powerful I have used. Really important to hold it upright though, you DO NOT want to freeze your monitor.

Ive had it loads, I always turn off the monitor and put a bright light near the vents to coax the buggers out!

No, no, you have it all wrong. It is the spiders that MAKE a crt work!!
That is why when breaks and you open up the back you always find a DEAD spider.

lol
that was so bad gentle is was good..
be careful i once had a dead spider burnt to the inside of my screen. Id tuen the screen off let it cool down and try blow the bug out with an airduster. last thing you want it is to get baked to the inside of the screen and you have to look at it forever..
I read about 4 pages of people talking about this on another forum just before I ordered my first LCD screen. I'm super paranoid about this happening to me. I'll split my wig if it does.
I've got one in my laptop screen. I thought the bugger was like a speck of dust as it wasn't moving when I returned to my laptop, so went to wipe it off my screen... but then I saw it expand as I crushed it and swore lol. It's about 1/3 in from the right and half way up, and I can't move it or anything. Been there since last summer. Dell quoted £175 ex VAT/del for a replacement monitor, so I told them where to shove that quote...
