View Full Version : Overclocking E6750

Speed fan it crap mate, don't trust a word it says (well i found it to be unreliable anyway) gives all sorts of weird and wonderfull readings.
Oh and as far as i know all versions of orthos run load dual cores up to 100% it is called dual prime afterall

Hmm running it on my vista pc at work, tis \"only\" 32bit though, try everest? or the mobo utility??
Just out of interest, what are you using to overclock that CPU in terms of cooling?
I'm planning on doing the same.
Cheers,
You're using one of those Arctic Cooling 7 Pro thingies aren't you PP?
Anyway, I bet you could get it waaaaaaaay higher than that... ;D
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO
One of those ^^ ? I was planning on buying one :) What would you use to get it clocked even higher then?

Sweet =D
If you could reach 4.0, that would be pretty swift, I'd imagine. =o

It doesn't have to be 24/7 stable, just long enough to take a screenshot... Then print it out and stick it on the wall. :D
4ghz might be pushing it, 3.5 should be easyish i would think.
I'm trying to overclock this same chip with an Antec 900 gamer case and an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro CPU cooler.
I have been using a very mild overclock to 2700Mhz and my temperatures are at 47C.
I was wondering how you managed to get your temperatures to be 40C with a much greater overclock than my own.
The only thing I can think of is that I either have an airflow problem, or I didn't apply my Arctic Silver thermal compound properly :? I'm sure I did though!
Think I'm going to take the overclock off until I figure it out!
Cheers.
EDIT: After turning all my fans to maximum and tidying inside my case, CoreTemp v0.95.4 says my Cpu is at 44c, SpeedFan v4.33 says 28 and the Asus AiBooster program says 40c. One or two programs are telling porkies
:?: So does anyone have a programme which will tell me for certain what my core temps are?
Otherwise I'm just going to take averages of the 3 programmes!
I did manage to reduce the temp by 5c after setting the vCore manually, the automatic setting was taking it way higher than neccesary. I'll post screenies later today for perusal.
Also going to redo my thermal compound, maybe I used too much.
im oc'ing my e6600 to 3.0 at the mo and i run idle at about 38-40 according to asus's proggies using a zalman 9500. a friend has similar temps at 3.2 using a zalman 9700. The killer with the temps is the cpu voltage which you have to increase really pushes up the temps.

Believe core temp, as far as i know it is the only one that reads the temps from the core of the cpu rather than a probe outside the cpu.
Cheers dude; I'll give this another shot over the weekend.
